Blah can't decide between cancelling the order for the 6790 and taking my chances. I have two people lined up locally to buy it but won't receive the phone until tomorrow.

You would expect ST and NT to be selling the exact same SIM card, but since you are also required to purchase airtime your purchase locks you to one company or the other

The three Nokias use AT&T SIM cards only = AT&T service.
It is speculated the LG 2X will have an unlocked T-Mobile SIM.
So there are the two choices of unlocked SIM`s that they could be offering for sale to be used in your choice of phones.
If you have a T-Mobile phone you would want to buy a T-Mobile SIM.
If you have an AT&T phone you would want to buy an AT&T SIM.
Perfect, this makes sense. If there was a lot of doubt on which carrier(s) the unlocked SIM(s) would be working on, it would make more sense for me to just grab a $49 6790 since I now know it works on AT&T. But as long as I can buy the AT&T SIM specifically, I'll grab that since it'll work best in my home/office and I have unlocked phones. Thanks for the response!
Yeah its just I placed my order at 2:30 yesterday and I'm sure I will get shipment confirmation within the hour leaving a very small window to cancel the order. Either way I don't think either of the buyers will learn of the update as I am selling them the 6790 more than it costs on the website. I guess worst case I could return the phone to ST and I would have to do something with the air card.
I wonder how people using E71 sims will be integrated into the new unlimited system?

WOW! A huge thanks to the OP!! I just picked up a 2 week old, as new in box, HTC Vivid for a steal last night. Was ready to go with Red Pocket or Jolt and now this...PERFECT! Question for you HoFo techies: would I need to have this phone unlocked or good to go as is?
Thanks
Sounds good but I'm with the majority, there has to be a way to choose the network IMO. Because peeps with iPhones don't want anything to do with tmobile.
Hopefully ST can put those rip off artist like RP,jolt, AV, h20 out of business.

So will ST and NT give instructions on how to set up your phone for their service, or will they just refer everyone to the HOFO Straight Talk forum???
I wonder if it has anything to do with so many people purchasing the e71 and then doing the swap anyways. Think about how many phones they were "subsidizing" that are just sitting in drawers because people swapped the sim instead of actually using the phone.
This way, people who actually want to use the e71 (or the other two) can buy the phone and it would theoretically get used and those of us who just want to a sim would be able to buy the sim (and thus not deplete their inventory.)
All in all it's a win win in my book. I'm guessing nothing will change for us users who already have done the sim swap, we just probably won't have to worry about them one day saying it's no longer allowed.
Funny !!!
HoFo is the mobile worlds best forum anyways, more info, reliable advice and helpful posters like yourself.
Also means St cant hide under the sand, with the claims of unlimited internet, and will need to give us a hard target, for the data limits.
WOW this is big deal !!!, I hope this includes AT&T, but i am skeptical, with the recent price increase for Data, this deal would blow At&T postpaid out of the water. I can almost hear the advertising line"At&T postpaid, only for those who aren't savvy enough to go to HoFo or naive to believe the sales reps" or a more insulting "AT&T postpaid, you got to be really dumb to get it".
2gb limit and 100mb! A day I bet ya
