I often stream You Tube on friend's ST LG Optimus Q. Notably slow during peak You Tube traffic...otherwise no prob on 3g ST connection.

    Works fine with straight talk.

Purchased the sms extension. Sends great but won't show the received messages.

I'm waiting on this answer myself. I actually got one of the reps to say that it is tmobile 3G so I'm waiting to see if that was a lie.

What's the problem? Jailbreak them and put apn in to get mms. 3G and 3GS should be jailbroken on principle alone.

I now have them both on At&t prepaid. But since the text plan doesn't include MMS, and the cost of data, I have the APN set so that it won't use data at all.

This is looking worst from my point of view as time goes by.

My phones are jail broke. But I know others that do not want anything done to their phone.

And I think the phone should work fully if it is on the native network. If all the features of my At&t phone will work on t-mobile, in principal I want it to also work on At&t.

Yeah but it's the iphone, all of it's features didn't work natively for how long without jailbreaking? I understand how some people don't want to jailbreak and possibly mess up their phones but that's their loss.

Is that with the new tmobile compatible sim card? I'd consider that 3G =)

I'm trying to think, what bad has ever come from jailbreaking an iPhone? It's just like installing an app really...

I agree. I don't think we would even have the iPhones if they weren't JB. We would probably have switched to Android.

We all have separate GV numbers and use GV exclusively, even at home.

This is T-mobile prepaid HSPA ( I don't think T-Mobile has 3G and not sure how ST can claim 3G)

I hope ST has this. Otherwise it will be EDGE only (2G)).

It supports 2G/3G/"4G" - just because a phone is advertised as "4G" doesn't mean it won't work on 3G. Let's not forget that AT&T and T-Mobile have faux 4G anyway.

While we are comparing the speeds of other carriers, below is a link to what I used to get on my Galaxy Nexus on Verizon 4G LTE. I know I'm taking a huge hit in speeds, but I'm also cutting my bill in half
