It covers sims that are from Straight talk AND Net10 which allow you to byod existing unlocked gsm devices on their unlimited plans. This is BIG NEWS for Net10. It is supposed to start tomorrow. We shall see...
Now, I wonder if they will sell the SIM cards in stores, or will they only be available through Net10 and Straight Talk sites? Obviously more money for them selling them in stores, but we will see.

Our feedback about Verizon Wireless agents as Verizon Wireless Prepay customers is: they are pointless to us.
Wow, the prepaid phone world just go more interesting! One of my reps and brother use Net10 with good results. Both are on the At&t network and get good coverage. More competition is good for us users!

I'm sure that once the smoke clears, the whiners will come out demanding the $30 unlimited everything plan special offer extend to this new byod policy just like they are on the $50 everything plan over at Verizon prepaid. Ain't going to happen on this round...
I'm so excited, I don't even mind that I renewed my Go Phone plan two days ago! The moment this service starts, I want in! I just wish Net 10 can port a Go Phone number.
There is no way this will be unlimited HSPA+ data: either speeds will be reduced after 2 or 5 GB, or speed will be capped at <1M/sec like ATT's gophone plans.

LIES!
Facts are, life is better on the T-Mobile side

You will save $5 per month on the Unlimited plan by going with the Straight Talk division of Tracfone for the SIM.
Given the Unlimited plan is cheaper under Straight Talk, what good reason(s) exist for this offer under Net10. Is Tracfone Wireless Inc. Are they trying to abolish Net10? Or is it bait for Straight Talk? It would have been more exciting if they would have allowed use of the smaller denomination cards.
Real Life Dictionary: Cell Phone. A fancy term for mobile answering machine.

When it comes to brick and mortar stores, Straight Talk will always be a Walmart exclusive. How can TracFone sell the unlimited plan to people who either hate Walmart or don't have one nearby? That's where Net 10 comes to the rescue. I've seen Net 10 sold at Sears, RadioShack, KMart, Best Buy and Office Max, while Straight Talk remains confined at Walmart. To us who buy online it may not make a big difference, but to people who buy at physical locations Net 10 has more visibility than Straight Talk.
Also net 10 has never called a customer and cut off their data. Plus net 10 has other minute options where you can buy minutes in bulk should you need those types of minutes. While straight talk only has 2 plans available.
I've got NET10 service on two phones, had service since early 2006 (6 years as of February 15th), and I'm interested in buying a used HTC HD2 (T-Mobile native device). It should easily be compatible with this plan (StraightTalk or NET10, either one).
Now, the question for me is: if I were to use it with the NET10 service, and just move my current primary NET10 number over, what exactly does that offer me considering NET10 (as I understand it) doesn't have a 3G network capability - meaning I'd have EDGE service, again as I understand it - and what exactly does that mean with respect to the so-called "unlimited" aspect for that $50 a month?
And if I decided instead to go with StraightTalk, is their service going to be using 3G or EDGE?
I keep seeing this and thinking it's finally an opportunity to get a real Android device (because all the current NET10 stuff is crap, even the new LG Optimus stuff for NET10 is crap with tiny screens and almost nothing useful for me), and I know the HD2 inside and out.
I just wish I could use an HD2 with my regular NET10 $30/60 day service which works out to $15/month for me. I don't even care to use it as a mobile Internet device as most of the places I go and many others are now offering Wi-Fi most anywhere. If NET10 would let me use the HD2 with my prepaid service level (meaning it's just a phone for calls and text messages and nothing else - no data plan, etc I'd do it in a heartbeat because that's all I really care about - and that's exactly what NET10 won't allow.
$50 a month is a huge difference in cost, even if I just used one of my current NET10 numbers with that level of service, and if it doesn't allow me any useful "unlimited" aspects like data for mobile Internet use, I don't see the point in such a plan.
I don't use all 300 minutes already as it is - I just wanted this for the capability of being able to use the web on the go. I currently still use my LG 900g and I've never once used the "browser" in it because it's crap and the service is ungodly slow (assuming it's EDGE speed for that). When it takes 2 minutes of airtime to load something as simple as a Google search page, that's either a) a borked network or b) a complete waste of airtime, typically it's both simultaneously so I've never once used it with any serious hope it would prove useful.
All I want to do is get another HD2 and make it functional with some 3G service from some company and not get reamed $80+ per month for the cost. If I can use an HD2 and get 3G service for less than that and in prepaid form meaning no damned contract then someone point me to that company so I can get more info.
This seems like a good thing for NET10 but I don't put much faith in it.
The Straight Talk Nokia`s come with the Unlocked AT&T SIM. We don`t know f the buy-a-sim is the same, but you would expect it to be. This is the best that AT&T gives to ANY of their many customers, short of LTE. Trac has never had an Unlocked T-Mobile SIM, so we must wait an closely examine the offering.
Since it is only available with the unlimited plan, you should be looking at Straight Talk which is $5 cheaper/30 days.
