i asked for interbrand migration in summer and they said yes.

I asked last week and they said no (even after confirming they see the note with interaction number from before).

they said I no longer meet the requirements even though I did nothing to my plan except pay them more money since summer. I asked why am I eligible in the summer and not now, they said requirements change all the time and have changed since then.

I asked what the requirements are, they said they can't tell me.

    Rogers is so awesome!

When calling in and expecting a sane, rational, sensical explanation from Rogers, go in with that in mind.

Did you end up switching to Fido?

I'm on the same boat as you. Rogers won't let me do a hardware update and I absolutely hate their customer service. I have called into Fido for my sister and they were courteous and polite. If I had a hardware upgrade from rogers 1.5 yrs ago and I have 1.5yrs on my contract, can I still get out of Rogers by only paying $100? And assuming I can go to Fido, can I sign a 3yr contract and get a new phone?

I had a little less than 2 years left of my contract. I went to the Fido store and the associate called Rogers and handed the phone to me, I was speaking with the customer relations and they tried to keep me but I declined the offers that they were throwing at me, she then transferred me to another person at the customer relations. He also tried to keep me and threw offers at me which I refused, after being on the phone for about 20 minutes or more he stated that the ECF would be $479 (I would have to pay $100 to migrate to Fido) and since this is my first time migrating to Fido he will make an exception and waive the fee completely with a note in my account, I dont pay anything to switch to Fido.

I am with Fido now, for the past 4 weeks and no longer have to worry about going over my minutes thanks to the City Fido plan.

As for the upgrade. You can choose what phone you want initially. I wanted the iPhone 4S but you have to have data (additional $25) added to the account and take a 3 year term, data cannot be cancelled at any time. I decided not to go that route and went with a free Blackberry 9300 and a 2 years contract.

    Hope that helps.

Hey, I guess it's safe to "hijack" this thread. So right now, I'm on a family plan with my mom. It's supposed to be $124 but it always seems to go over. 400 minutes and 2gb with both of us having my 10 and early evenings/weekends. My point is, I was wondering if it's still $100 bucks to port over and what the conditions are. My line just came from Fido last year. Oh, and could I get a hup from Rogers right before I switch and only pay $100?

EDIT: I'm looking at something like 1 city Fido with BB data and one $20 plan with the $25 2gb. (Unless there's a share plan I can't find.)

You can still do this but you must have retention document the offer on your account.

Which offer? As in a hup from Rogers or getting the port?

FYI for people wanting to switch to Fido.
Fido is the only carrier which stacks your contract. So if you want a HUP early and sign a new contract, the new contract would only start when your current contract ends (unless you pay the ECF in full and start afresh). This is one thing I cannot stand and why I switch from Fido to Rogers.

Interbrand porting is considered an offer. You must have that documented.
