What frequencies is 3G available on?

I was under the impression that 3G worked on 850 and 1900.

I have the Nokia 800 (RM-801 variant) that works on 900/1900/2100. So shouldn't it still connect to 1900 for 3G? Right now I'm only connecting to EDGE.

Maybe there's no HSPA 1900MHz towers in your area?

Are there any network coverage maps that show which towers are available?

I haven't been able to connect to 3G at all so far.

It's my understanding that the 1900 band was standardized for 3G service in North America ( for most carriers, anyway):

on the other hand, I found this post from a Rogers person saying the opposite:

It seems that originally a new band was needed for UMTS, perhaps because of its wider/greater bandwith requirement, but in recent years carriers have figured out ways to do it on low bands like 850 or 900.

Cool map, thanks! The nearest tower to me is a green one.. Rogers? It's a bit far... probably explains why my signal goes up and down in my apartment. Doesn't show what frequencies the towers operate at.
