    Conditional call forwarding on chatr

Has anyone been able to change the chatr's default phone number for conditional call forwarding? I don't want my callers to hear "voicemail on this account has not been set up" but I get error messages from network when I try to disable conditional call forwarding and/or change it to say my home number.

Actually -- has anyone tried to contact CCTS on this issue? I'm quite upset Chatr thinks they have the liberty to route my calls to the numbers I haven't specifically chosen.

PS. No, I'm NOT talking about UNCONDITIONAL call forwarding, I know how it works and how to set it up, thank you very much.

You can call and ask them to remove your voice mail from your line, once its removed you can then control all call forwarding features. Eg. Busy, no answer etc

    iPhone instructions:
    To deactivate, dial: ##20#
To enable conditional forwarding, dial: *67*<phone number to forward calls when busy with area code>#

I was unable to change the number of ringtones before VM kicks in.

I tried to use the following GSM codes:

    *61*16475301437*11*30#

    **61*16475301437**30#

Is anyone was able to increase the number of ringtones from 20 to 30 seconds?

On Chatr (Fido/Rogers?) you can't use conditional call forwarding if you have voicemail.
So, you can't change the number of rings before a call forwards to system voicemail.
You can do immediate call forwarding (21).

If you call in and request to have voicemail disabled, then you can use conditional call forwarding.
There are better voicemail options out there.
The Chatr VM allows no more than 10 messages and auto-deletes after 5 days.

VoIP.ms voicemail allows 100 msgs, email option, no auto-delete, multiple mailboxes, inbound CID filters.
They don't charge for voicemail, but you need a DID (number) for the forwarding, 0.85/mo.
There are free options, others would know the particulars.

Thanks to jattdesi for his 4-yr old post above. I thought Rogers had disabled conditional CFWD altogether.
I called in and had them disable voicemail, now all the dial codes work, so I can use my own.

Customer care might be able to change the number of rings, but they seemed pretty clueless when I talked to them.

Conditional CFWD = no answer / unreachable / busy (61/62/67).
For no answer, forward after 30sec, the correct format is **61*number**30#
(time must be a multiple of 5, 30 max, you don't need 1 before the 10 digit number)
Or use the settings menu under call options.

Thank you for the detailed answer, I really appreciate your effort.

This is ridiculous, they don't change things for years and still have a hard coded switch set to 20 seconds. Damn Robbers

I would consider removing VM if we have Who Called (missed calls) while the phone is off, unavailable etc. I don't know why Fido/Rogers has this option but Chatr doesn't.

Regarding your last paragraph instructions on Conditional CFWD is that work if I remove VM only?
