I have one and love it, everything works as it should, you will have to add some programing mods when you activate but cs will help and tell you what and where to put the info in.
Bobby, what did Pageplus support guide you to do? I have called 5 times, each time holding no less than 20 mins for a representative that ultimately has no idea what to do?
At the moment, voice works just fine on my X2 but data doesn't work at all. Any help would be VERY appreciated as this is the phone I use for business!
They had me delete some numbers in two different places and replace with their numbers, If i remember it has been awhile, my number and something else. they have done this with the x2 and fascinate for me. both have full resources, as for rooting the x2 it was easy with a one step root then add the additional programs from the market.

turbowd , no modifications should be required on any unmodified Vzw Android 3G phone after it is activated on PPC to have everything working properly. If data isn't working, the first step should be to call PPC CS and ask them to disable data. After it is disabled, ask them to re-enable data. If that doesn't work, ask the PPC CS rep to do an ESN reset, which is essentially removing the phone from the PPC system, and then re-adding it to the PPC system. Good luck.

There is no requirement to root. But you can root it if you want to use DroidWall to control cellular data usage. You can root either before or after you activate with PPC.
Thanks guys.

The main advantage to rooting when you are using PP is that you can use droidwall (an app available from the market) to control what apps use data and what apps use wifi. Why is this important? Well, with PP you have limited amounts of data (depending on your plan) that you can use without paying extra - so controlling data usage can be important. Do you NEED to root to use the phone on PP? No it is not necessary. There are other reasons to root too, but controlling data usage seems to be the most important in regards to PP.
EDIT: heh....I guess Boz1 already said all that...oops
I recently tested the "don't mention a PP Dealer by name" rule here on PP Hofo......trust me, it is still in effect - got me a 7 day ban.
I will be using wifi at home and 3g data when I am on the road to check traffic conditions and occasional emails. I will be getting 250 minutes plans because I don't use/text my phone that much so to control data is very important for me.
What else I should be considering since I am such a rookie in this PP?
