If anyone has a clear understanding of how the Bell's online data tracker works, maybe he could explain the following:
I have 2 lines with 6GB data on Bell's Small Business Share plan...one has the 6GB as part of a bundle, and the other has it as an addon.
With the online use tracker, it shows the use for line with the 6GB addon simply and clearly as MB used out of 6143 MB. But on the other line, it's broken down into one sub-heading for the 6143 MB, another sub-heading for "unlimited", in which the data use is listed as "Service Zone". And sometimes I have seen a 3rd sub-heading called "Pay per Use" which is also specified as unlimited. The funny thing is most of my usage, per the online tracker, is under the "unlimited" - service zone sub-heading. I've also seen usage listed under the "Pay per Use" although I have never been charged anything extra. In fact, very little data use is charged against the 6143 MB (6GB) sub-heading. I would say maybe 10% is charged to the 6GB. Right now, I'm not really worried since I have not been charged anything extra, and it seems I will never come close to exceeding the 6GB limit, especially since most of my data use is charged to the "unlimited" sub-headings. But still, I would like to understand how the system works.
Not sure but on mine it has the same headings, and almost none of the data I use seems to get counted. My Galaxy Nexus shows that I use around 1.5 GB's per month but on the online tracker it shows I use about 30 MB's per month
^ The online tracker does seem to track all my data use, except very very little of it is counted under the 6GB bucket. Most of it is counted under the "Unlimited" heading. I don't know if "Unlimited" means just that, or is it merely some Bell internal tracking terminology, and it's really just a subset of the 6GB category.
The weird thing is, as I said, the second line in the account also has the 6GB plan, and the usage is listed very clearly and simply as x/6143 MB. No other heading or sub-heading.
