Switching from montly plan back to PAYG and per minute price

Say I put an $80 refill on my phone. At this time I have 2,000 minutes that will not expire for a year ($0.04/min).

2 months later there is $60 left. I purchase PIN for "The 55" plan and apply it. During the month that 55 plan is in effect I do not exceed my monthly allowance for anything, so at the end of the month I still have $60 left. Right before plan expiration I switch back to PAYG plan.

    1) What will my per-minute price be now? Still $0.04 or $.10 (I think I read that when you switch from monthly plan back to PAYG all balance is converted to $.10/minute but PP website is down now and I can't re-check)

    2) When will my balance expire?

I've read that when a monthly voice plan expires, after a few days of being charged the overage voice rate, it will most likely go to $0.12/min. I've also read that if you call PPC CS, they can set it back to the correct rate for your Standard Plan PIN. YMMV.
