    3GS iMessage turns itself off immediately

    Phone - 3GS, new bootrom, 5.0.1 jailbreak with redsn0w, no sim hactivated

    iMessage was set to OFF and when ever I try to set it to ON it immediately switches OFF as I let go of the button. The 3GS was hactivated originally. Push notifications was not working and neither was iMessage (same issue). I just recently did the SAM fix for hactivated 3GS 5.0.1 and got push notifications to work fine (and supposedly iMessage is to be working too) how ever I have this issue lingering. Restrictions are disabled.

    Any clues as to why?

    You must have a data connection and an Apple ID for iMessage to work.

    It still happens when connected to wifi. Also iCloud works fine as the phone can sync with it (and iTunes store works...therefore Apple ID should be good).
