    Help me decide?

ATM me and my wife are running 2x iPhone's on H2O and have decided to switch, I have two new red pocket SIM's sitting here (was waiting for current months to expire before the switch).

Now that Straight Talk is offering BYOP.... I'm not sure if I want to use these red pocket sims or wait a few weeks and go with Straight Talk.

We run the 50$ a month plans, unlimited text/talk/250mb data.

wait for a month, this BYOD is a game changer, but you want to wait for at-least a month, to see what the data restrictions, etc are.
besides ST's already weak CS is going to get overwhelmed with the new BYOD, this deal even is still unclear(gamechanger as it is, i dont understand how AT&T agreed to this, this is the equivalent of trying to sabotage their own postpaid individual lines, family plans are still safe for now), is there throttling, is there a daily data and a monthly data limit, what happens then? throttling or complete shut down of the data?
I think since you already have service, wait for things to settle down, then survey back and head in.

Drop h2o like and bad habit. Ditto on red pocket, RMA it, send it back, say no thanks, whatever.

Wait for the ST sim and stay within the 2GB limit.

I use a factory unlocked 4S on ST already. Take it from me you won't have problems. Or you can listen to folks who buy phones from rite aid and never seen a web browser in a phone and listen to them.

But remember it is your choice where to spend your money. You can give it away to these fly by night middle men. Or you can support innovation in the prepaid space by supporting a large company on solid financial footing.

Red Pocket has been in business for some time and can hardly be described as a fly-by-night operator.
Supporting the world's richest person, sounds like an interesting motivation.

You are misguided my friend but do what you wish. I am just stating my experience as a long time prepaid user on a variety of iOS (the OP is on iOS) gizmos who have been through the trenches with a variety of these scum bags like jolt h2o Airvoice "hot" pocket and friends.

If you claim the same the experience then good as the OP will have 2 arguments to consider on iOS.

stonedcold, i didn't mean that as an insult, just meant to say that despite all the excitement, it would be prudent to wait for a month to have the dust settle down. I meant this in the context of the influx of people who will overwhelm CS(my past experience is it really doesn't take much to overwhelm them).
I understand your point of having had your fingers burnt in the past by other MVNO's, and AM is the biggest gorilla in prepaid.
The last line about me contributing to the personal wealth of the world's richest person, i thought was just plain ironic.

Ok you got a valid point there about waiting a bit and seeing how it plays out with the ST sim. But I am highly confident that it will work out.

Apologies if I came off too harsh. Its just that every time I stray off topic a bit and voice my concerns about some of these Mvnos I expect to get attacked on HoFo forums.

Yeah I think I will wait, I only paid .99 cents for each of the red pocket sims so no big loss there. The main reason for me to wait on ST is the 2gb/unlimited data for 45$ ATM we are paying 50$ each phone and only get 250mb.

Just so you know because a lot of people won't tell you this because they don't really want to help you if it takes to much of their time.

ST offers some promos and deals from time to time that allow you to drastically reduce the monthly price of the plan from the quoted $45 you keep refering to all the way down to 24-30 bucks depending on how much elbow grease you want to apply.

My ST rate is 26-28 dollars a month for the next 6 months, people I know get even less than that. Far less than 45 bucks. And far less that any other mvno you mentioned can compete with. You can read about the deals here on HoFo ST forums.

It's not for everyone just for those that want to save money. And the deals come and go so you have to act fast when you see them. But the head guy on these forums, I call him the head honcho, he assures me that deals have been going on for a very long time and doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon.

Also don't be concerned about what you hear about the 2gb ST limit. Yes it is something you need to follow. But if you are a normal iOS user and do normal stuff with data you will not run up against this limit. I use my 4S a lot and I am not a data hog and I have no concerns.

Thanks for the heads up, I looked around and didn't really see any deals you are talking about. I assume its a pay for xxx month's at a time deal? I will keep my eyes open.

Yeah it was the 3month free phone deal. You do that deal 2x for 6 months at a good rate. It just ended.
