We don't have a CDMA overlay on that site nor does Sprint expect us to be getting one anywhere in the inconceivable future, so if it does get decommissioned, then yes, no more Sprint service.

From what I hear they are doing Louisiana first then going from there. Maybe we have such a small pool of Nextel customers they decided to do us first. Doesn't suprise me...I know of only 2 people with Nextel and they work for the same company. Everyone else has AT&T around here.
And I say hey.... hey....
I said hey, what's goin' on!
Nextel use is low here too, I can't remember seeing anyone on Nextel, and I have not touched Nextel myself since 2008/2009. Only some service centers (like the service at the dealership) use them for parts drivers and stuff... but there are still like what, 5 million out there?
Does anyone know where the map went? Not it's just a page explaining stuff with no map :-(

Thrill me...
What is poetic is that the ambiguous modification in the thread title could be construed to mean that the particular Sprint web site itself is to be shut down. And, well, that is exactly what happened.

We should start a "tower" jar on PayPal. Anyone on HoFo who calls a "cell site" a "tower" has to pay Howard a nickel.
I am wondering how many people are going to start filling complaints (Attorney General,Better Business Bureau) against Sprint for this? I have a Motorola Titanium that I paid full price for to avoid a contract and use it on Boost, I will soon have a $400.00 paperweight, I called Sprint and they said since I do not have a contract I am out of luck even though I Purchace the phone directly from Sprint! They did not tell me it would stop working or that they planned on shutting down IDEN! but took my money and tell me it is Boost problem not there? I know there has been several class action law suits against Sprint and Nextel in the past I wonder if it is going to happen again? I have a lot of Ex Coworkers that depend on the service most repo agents, tow truck drivers, some police departments, and other goverment agencys, are they all going to have to take the financial hit for this? I know this is a year away but so they tell me, but a lot of people are going to be Pi**ed off that they are being forced to buy new phones, what amazes me is they are still selling Iden phones.
