Picking up a voice call, then i can't hear anything... I don't understand what the issue is. Is it my phone or wind? Please help, really can't hear anything, sometimes I can hear the person and they can't hear me... Whats happening?
It's WIND. I have the exact same issue on both incoming and outgoing calls, once the call connects I can hear the other side but they don't say anything because they can't hear me. Also get a lot of random noises (a couple people say they sound like alien noise lol) and the other side say it's really annoying.
No more half duplex, but this isn't much better. Forgot to mention that the other side usually hangs up due to the silence. Now I'm all for unlimited calling, but it's extremely annoying to make every call twice just to get through to the other side.
No one else has this issue except the 2 of us? And usually, when you get that problem, do you have weak signal? Or happens all the time regardless of signal?
I had the same problem with some roms. But I haven't had it lately. I'm using ics right now and everything works fine. Some people have reportedthe mute unmute bug is still present though.
I've got this issue as well (in GVA). Usually for the first 5-10s of the call. Keep saying "hello, hello" until they can hear me. Its been really bad lately, pretty much every call. Some people just give up before they can start to hear me. Makes me wonder if there's a point to even answering calls as it'll be some frustration and then a hangup.
Some calls however my voice is muted the entire time. Even after 10s the other end that called me will never hear my voice. Have to hang up the phone, reboot my phone (nexus one) and it will work again. Complained a few times but WIND call centre blames everything on my "unsupported" phone.
I know my phone heats up a lot when on voice calls and games, anyone think it could be the hardware wearing?
I do have good signal with my vibrant and it has only had this problem for about 2-3 weeks... only recently so I doubt it could be my rom (Whiskey)
I think it's all Galaxy S phones. I've seen this on the captivate also. It's even worse when the other side is moving and talking.
Don't think so. I have it on the Panache and another person has the same issue on the Nexus One on top of the Galaxy S phones.
And what a terrible thing of the WIND CSR to brush us off by saying its our unsupported phone. What a **** company when it comes to helping out your customers.
That has happened to one of my friends using an HTC phone. Don't think it's anything to do with the Vibrant.
A few people I work with moved to Mobilicity because of their superior call quality whereas others aren't too bothered and stick with Wind for the faster data. It seems you can't have both.
This is one of the reasons why I got rid of my Vibrant. Many custom ROMs (I believe the ones based on CM7) have this problem, and the solution is to mute then unmute.
I tried this... GF and I use the same phone, one stock one isn't...
She had a lot of problems with it, so when she calls no one hears her and its all of her voice calls were like that.
I HAD the same problem and I just restart my phone by clearing all cache and history off my phone and disconnecting the batter.
And theres my fix... Same thing done to her phone and theres no more problems!
Will use the phone with out restarting to see how long this lasts and will post again.
Makes me wonder if I'm experience the same thing. Some times when I call, the other person will go "hello, hello" for a couple of seconds. I don't think much about it but maybe they do that since they can't hear me.
Although I'm using a Nexus S with stock ICS. If indeed what I experience is the same, then it isn't the phone.
Just to check back in, we are still having the problem... but only on HER phone or when we talk to each (calling each other) so I would have to guess its her phone, I might have to clean her phone up from all the crap that builds up over a month on surfer on the web.
So far the only fix I get is that I clear my history and files off my phone... nothing solid yet, will keep workin on it!
