Can you expound more on this? I bought factory unlocked/unbranded (imported) Samsung phones before and have always thought Samsung wont honor warranty for these imported phones.

Hit or miss. Samsung Canada generally will not work with the end user on warranty situations.
The international version is different from the Cnd/US version,
I cant see Samsung Canada offering any support of it.
Looking forward to hearing comments from those getting one today.
GALAXY NOTE TESTS:
Before you put 30 mins on it :
Take a close look at the screen with brightness set to minimum.
Streaks, blotches, grain, uneven color temperture, etc., were seen on the int version.
Also run angry birds, on the title screen see if its a smooth sky gradient ,
or banding as if only 12-16 bit color was used.
Check in call volume ranges, many reported very low volumes.
Try running a demanding game like Pinball Arcade see how the different processor handles it.
If your happy with those results you got yourself a great device.
Well I'm buying it full price, and I'm also gonna unlock it. If any problem I'll send it to Samsung that's it!

Can you report back once you unlock it and confirm if WindMobile SIM provides 3G HSPA on the device. If you don't have a wind sim, just go to Wind Store test their sim. It will be very helpful. I don't want to throw big money on this phone before it can be certain it works with Wind 3G band.

Banding is purely due to issues with how the software renders graphics, Android renders in 18bit color which isn't enough to eliminate color banding. You won't escape banding on any Android device, even IPS or OLED ones with 24bit panels.
My Plan -150 Minutes
-Unlimited Texts
-6pm Evenings
-6GB Data
Indeed. On my sub $40 plan, it would cost me $429.93 with a 3 year contract. In a few months when HSPA is better deployed in my area to make it worth my while, it will probably be the same price the galaxy is selling for now. Internationally I'm told it sells pretty much for the same price as the GS2.
That being said I'm not sure it will be a big success as it is probably going to be too large for most users, I'm thinking most women and a good proportion of men have much smaller hands than mine. To me with my big paws, it's not even close to being "large", heck even the GS2 is too small except for browsing wap sites.
I'll give my first impression tomorrow if I get a chance to try it when I return the GS2. If the store has it, considering they'd be losing a sale when I return with the GS2, I'm sure they'll let me try it if they have one.

It won't work on WIND....99% sure. They have tested the AT&T version (identical to Bell's by all accounts) on T-Mobile (same bands as Wind) and it was EDGE-only, meaning no support ofr Wind 3G, or Wind at all since they don't have EDGE.
I have been looking into the NOTE for the past weeks and talked to Bell and stores and read groups. Here is my findings:
a) You can unlock it for $75 from Bell or $20 online (search cellunlocknet) I used before and took 15 minutes.
b) SAMSUNG Warranty is still valid if unlocked I am told from sales rep. Told that if 'rooted' that is a different story. They know people travel and are inserting other SIM cards so unlocking it 'shouldn't' void the warranty.
c) Store extended warranty is covered by some if unlocked. Bestbuy didnt seem to care if unlocked. Others...'hit and miss' but store clerks told me simply not to tell him its unlocked and they will process return/exchange.
TIP: WHat I am doing is getting Bells $7 warranty for first few months and if anything wrong or if I drop it since its so big/or dropped by friend who wants to try it, I will get it replaced. If nothing goes wrong in the first 6 months chances are all is ok and I will cancel that monthly charge. Curious if anyone has better idea on this though. ????
d) My renewal offers full upgrade credit so I am getting for $199. Bell is waiving $35 fee too.
e) Call retentions and see what they can do to sweeten pot. I have a bunch of retention credits from past years but they are upgrading my plan to Fab 10 plan and keeping all my past credits.
TIP: Keep ontop of Bell though as last time they promised these credits but then when I renewed they said 'they didnt say that' and they didnt have complete notes. They had to review the recorded call records to see I was right and then they gave me what was promised. If they screw up again I will pull the plug and leave Bell and move to Wind or something.
f) On that note, this phone will work on WIND too. 1700/2100 frequency
TIP: our second line with WIND is amazing and cheap for kids/light users: 'Pay your way' phone which costs me $80/year total!!! including 50mb/mth data and unlimited incoming txt/voice
Anyhow, will have my note soon. Will soon be able to read my screen again without glasses /magnifying glass.
TIP: I will make sure the Mobile TV works before I leave the store as I read there are some who cannot get it to work on the Note.
