I lost my trusty W385, my daughter has one not in use, that phone was purchased on Ebay, activated on MetroPCS. She has since upgraded to a smartphone. I want to activate her W385 on PapePlus, but they show the phone still on Metro. I called MetroPCS and they say the phone is free, but I still can dial and connect to their network and get error message.

I talked to their customer service supervisor, a local corporate store, and their tech department, all said the phone is free. I know though I need to get them to unlock the phone or provide me with the unlock code. Does anyone know how to unlock and get unlock code?

I did call a local service who does unlocking they want $50, I could buy a new phone for that.

Obviously I am a cheap *******, I bought 3 W385 (4 or 5 years ago) on ebay my wife's is still going strong, and my daughter's only need a new battery. For basic text & voice we don't need anything fancy, we have been using prepaid for the few minutes we use a month. Another reason is both myself and the wife are now unemployed so we are trying to keep expenses down.
