Mobile Internet Plans not listed, Anyone have a good one?
Just wondering if anyone has any Mobile Internet Plans or knows of any that could be or are being offered by Telus Loyalty that might be better than what I have. I currently have the old 33 Connect for 33$ a month plus SAF for 5GB a month. The problem I am finding is that with both kids now old enough, they are starting to use the internet all the time. So I have two ipods , a PS3, the home computer and a laptop all on wi-fi in the house through a cradlepoint router. I'm going through that 5gb like nothing these days.
So I wonder is it better to just incur the extra charges and pay the 10$ more per GB that I use or does anyone think there might be a better deal out there. I don't mind paying a bit extra for more GB but seeing as how it costs 65$ for 5GB right now I'm thinking I might be out of luck and sticking with my current plan may be my best option.
P.S We live rural and Telus is our only option of Internet.
If the 5GB or less were enough for you I would suggest the Flex plan for Tablets. You could also double up on the Flex plans and swap SIM's when you approach the 5GB mark. It's $35 with no system access fee for up to 5GB so it's cheaper than the old Connect 33 plan though it's not fully endorsed for use in a mobile broadband stick it works just fine. You could keep the Connect 33 as your main account and then swap to the Flex plan SIM when you exceed the 5GB mark during the month until something larger comes along.
But LTE launch should be within the month. Would not be surprised to see them match the 10GB plan that Rogers launched on their LTE network for $50. Not sure what the coverage areas for LTE will be but I'm guessing if you do not get dual cell 42Mbps coverage now you will not be getting the initial LTE coverage either.
Beyond that, keep on the hunt for a fixed wireless provider in your area. They often do a poor job of marketing their availability even to people in their coverage areas but it's usually a better choice for a home connection than using a mobile broadband plan. If there are any fixed wireless services around that do not yet cover you then at least call them up now and then to find out if they have extended their coverage area to reach you.

We think everyone should be able to afford a wireless phone. That's why we were the first wireless company in North America to offer pay-by-the-second airtime, and why we don't charge an activation fee. NO scary contract to sign. Immediate national coverage. And a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Yes, it's finally time to get a wireless phone.

Thanks for the info i'll check into that Flex Plan. Right now I have the Huawei E372 and I actually do pick up the Dual Cell Service out here. I have been watching the LTE launch closely and from what I have heard if you can get Dual Cell then you will pick up LTE. Is that correct. If so I might wait patiently for awhile longer to see what happens here.

No, it is not correct to say that all areas with dual cell coverage will get LTE when it launches.
It would be correct to say that areas that only have 21Mbps single cell coverage will not be expected to get the initial LTE coverage.
The initial coverage area for LTE is going to be smaller than the existing dual cell HSPA coverage. Not sure how they plan to expand it, but they certainly will not push it into all areas since it's going to be a data only network until voice over LTE and call handoff back and forth to 3G HSPA circuit switched network is figured out.
Should not be long before we hear more. (days, weeks)
Telus already started to sell the LTE capable version of the SIM cards that will be required to access the LTE network.
I don't know what the LTE coverage will be on launch. I think they're "trying" to cover the Dual Cell at least, so you may be correct.
I know that if you get an LTE card, it will fall back to Dual Cell if unavailable. The LTE card coming out is Novatel, but not sure if it has an antenna or not if that's important or not for people.
