Has anyone else had trouble roaming in Niagara Falls, ON ? I was there Saturday and could not make/receive calls or send/receive SMS even though my phone showed full signal connected to Rogers EDGE. I had a friend with a Rogers phone standing next to me confirm that her phone worked fine.
I have money in "my wallet". The phone roamed fine unto Rogers EDGE near Stoney Creek and Hamilton when I tested later that day.
No issues when I was there with Mobilicity service (on Panache). Near the border, phones do get confused on which signal to roam.
I didn't try manually looking for a T-mobile signal. I'll definitely try that the next time I find myself there. Thanks for the tip. I wonder why I couldn't use the Rogers signal though.... annoying.
Yes, it's a Bold 9700 bought from Mobilicity about a year ago and updated several months ago to 6.6.0.236 / 6.0.0.650 (2858) . Is there still a known problem with roaming using this phone and software?
Bahaha! I have a BlackBerry as well and I have discovered this problem and no one else knows about it!
So it's an unknown problem!
I've found the issue to be intermittent and has nothing to do with the area. One day it works, another day it doesn't.
I can't pin point the issue tho... I have the issue escalated with customer service right now... but they'll probably come back saying they didn't find any issue.
Oh man, that sucks. I've really been pretty happy the year I've been with Mobilicity. But I need mostly reliable service from my cellphone.Hmmm, I am going to try to stick it out a bit longer before jumping back to the evil world of 300min and after 6pm blah blah blah and infinite other assorted deliberately confusing and immoral B.S. money-grab fees. I'm curious if there is any phone with solid roaming on Mobi. I see someone just started a thread asking about the Galaxy Nexus and roaming. I'm hoping there are reports that it works right.
