Rogers rolls out new "Ultimate Unlimited Family Plans"
Rogers says “Customers can truly say goodbye to those other cellphone providers”, rolls out new “Ultimate Unlimited Family Plans” - What do you guys think?

My Plan
200 mins + 250 bonus mins = 450 mins + eve/wkds from 6pm + 6 GB data + Value Pack (CID/VM/2500 texts) + R2R + 100 Cdn Long distance mins + GRFF - credits = $39.35 before taxes
I read through some of the comments on the mobilesyrup.com website and I don't think there was 1 happy camper! LOL
Not really surprising. Rogers isn't exactly the most loved company in Canada and plans like this aren't helping that image.
At least it is really unlimited airtime (and SMS and MMS), so they aren't being as misleading with their product naming. I don't see much that is different than what you could get with City Koodo and their messaging add-on for $40/month per line, no contract and you get Voicemail and CID included on all lines. Oh, but Rogers gives you ETM and RON..woot!
Carrier unlocked iPhone 4
Unlimited airtime, Unlimited CAN/US long distance, Unlimited SMS to CAN/US wireless numbers
2500 Call Forwarding minutes to CAN/US numbers
CiD, 6GB
Google Voice for visual voice mail with message transcription, conditional greetings, unlimited messages (vs 35 message cap), remote retrieval from any PC or phone, no auto-purge after 10 days and most importantly no $7-$8 charge.
So it's $35.97 per line for unlimited calling and unlimited messaging when you have 5 lines.
Not quite as cheap as some of the other guys but Rogers has a lot of advantages over the other guys too. Overall I'd say it's a very good plan.

Might make sense if you have a family of 5 and none of the members want VM or CID or Data - once you factor that in you probably can find a better deal somewhere else.

Far better deals without contracts and the need of 5 lines. Ugh when will we be out of this hell

But think of all of their advantages (and really, who needs VM or CID anymore?).
<crickets...>
Well, they do have ETM and RON, lol. And let's not forget they are the only carrier that has (and needs) a fall back 2G network, that's an advantage. They also have the cool red vans, which is you know, awesome.
Better offerings on Bell...
How the heck is a 2G fall back network an advantage? I've never been in a Bellus situation wishing I had "fall back"...and for anyone that knows me, I travel all over the province.
Fido had it right with their price points IMO, mind you these are 'unlim' everything BUT i'd like to see real world usage in terms of combined minutes for the avg. consumer. But they killed the pooch
At 140$ it should be three lines with at least 1gb, CID &VM combined in it.
Otherwise, any gov't employee can jump on board with the 17.42 plan coupled with 6gb of data with unlim text for the same money [assuming <200mins/month usage].

you need to stray a tad more off the beaten path then lol.
who needs it? People who camp/hunt/fish.....pretty much nobodies lol.
My Plan: airtime●some●features●some●LD●frills●some●data+credits 32+|0|0 119+|0|0
SO u consider 2Gb "unlimited"?.....wonder when the full facts come out, where will the word "unlimited" stand.
Given Rogers historically liberal use of the word, it seems people don't mind. Look at their website for other "unlimited talk and text" plans. Unlimited incoming texts, unlimited evenings, unlimited CID. Pretty much anything goes where Rogers is concerned and defining a plan as unlimited. Never set high expectation of Rogers and you'll almost never be disappointed.
There's so much competition out there, so what does Rogers do raise prices and come out with this ridiculous plan offering. Koodo mobile is a way better deal. $35 city koodo with unlimited local calling. Voicemail, caller ID included, with no zones, $5 add on for unlimited text and picture messaging .equals $40 bucks a way better price than garbage Rogers would offer you. And Rogers costs $140 per month for 2 lines. With koodo it would only cost $80 for 2 lines save $60 bucks for a 3rd line. Or go with wind or mobilicity for $50 bucks for 2 lines save $90 bucks for nearly 4 more lines. I find Rogers is the most expensive cellphone company out of all of then and Rogers is the worst evil company out of all of them. I like koodo cause they have good affordable plans and with quality service and I find koodo to be an honest company.
