Getting Unlimited Data Plan on VZW?

I am looking into adding a Data Plan on VZW Family Plan. I noticed now that VZW does not offer an Unlimited Data Plan for $30 a month. I am wondering if there is a way around this or do I just need to go with Sprint for Unlimited Data?

    Thumbs up Thanks!

I will have to look into doing this! Seems like people are still able to call up and get Unlimited Data.

    Question 3G $30 a Month

I don't see a 4G Hotspot option on the iPhone 4S I want unlimited data on. The only option I see is "3G Mobile Hotspot & Mobile Broadband Connect." I assume this is what I call and complain isn't working? It is giving me an error message.

The loophole is meant for 4G phones.

    Yes, you can try that.

Didn't several people say it worked for iPhones doing what he is trying to do as well?

    Verizon's 3G network. ............................................ AT&T's 3G network.

    Verizon's 4G network.

And the iPhone 4S is not a 4G phone.

but S comes after G in the alphabet, so doesn't that mean a 4S phone is even faster? Maybe we need to start demanding Verizon sells more 4S phones.....

Not that I have an iphone, but I've read it works just fine by adding the 2GB mobile hotspot feature. You get 2 gigs mobile hotspot and the $29.99 unlimited data plan. link

Just like with the every other aspect of the loophole, results have varied. Only way to know for sure is to try. I've seen so many claims in so many different directions with this loophole it's hard to believe half of any of it anymore. Some claim they were audited and reverted back. Some claim they have called up to 8 times and were denied every single time. Some have claimed they were told this was a promotion. Some were told their account would be notated and wouldn't be allowed to get this no matter what. Some have claimed they got it on a 3G device, others claim no matter how many times they have called or what they have tried, they were denied. Some have been told if they dropped the hotspot that eventually they would be reverted back to the previous plan. Others were told they could drop it and nothing will happen. The list goes on.

Regardless, one thing to keep in mind is that NOTHING is guaranteed or promised. You could have the Unlimited Data for 6 months and if Verizon decides to do a mass audit, there is nothing anyone can do. Will they? Some say no, some say yes. Only Verizon knows for sure though. Some I believe are also just screwing with people just to see who will try.

I fail to see how adding a 2GB hotspot on a 3G phone will add Unlimited Data. But whatever.

Fact is, the only way to know for certain is to try.

Interestingly, Verizon is still offering unlimited data on prepaid for 3G smartphones at least. The individual plans at least are $5 more than the post-paid ones.

Yea, I don't get that. If VZW gets the SpectrumCo spectrum, they should just offer unlimited LTE again--they should have the capacity for it, and it would give them a killer marketing point.

    You have a bad gut...

Anyway, using the loophole to get unlimited data on a 3G phone is no different than using the loophole to get unlimited data on a 4G phone. The only difference is that you only get 2 GB of MHS data for 3G phones as opposed to unlimited MHS for 4G phones. Why should you find that using the same loophole to get unlimited data on 4G phones on 3G suprising when a person who has a line activated with 3G service with unlimited can easily get a 4G BYOD phone and switch their unlimited data line to the 4G phone? I use a 3G phone and I had the loophole used the first time.

Unlimited 4G Mobile Hotspot requires Unlimited Data. It even states so since it uses the same data as the data plan.

However adding a 2GB Hotspot to get unlimited data on 3G seems a bit backwards. Especially since there is no Unlimited Data requirement.

You act like you made VZW's systems. You assume that you know how VZW's systems work. The reality is that you don't, and people with 3G phones on tiered data plans can get the loophole to works as easily as people with 4G phones. If you don't like it then and want to feel that you're elite just because you have 4G phone, that's personal, but you don't have to go spreading misinformation to people that are interested in it such as *it only works for 4G phones* or *people who reported having the loophole used on a 3G phone are lying and just want to see if they can get people to try it*. I mean come on, really?
