My friend, you need to read the thread over again. Why would you make that comment? We're not talking about "paying" or "not paying" for anything. The point is that you *can't* get a number like Google Voice (where you can call and text) in Canada, for free or for a fee. I absolutely would pay for it (I'm currently paying $9.95 for Line2, which doesn't have texting yet) but our carriers are delaying the arrival of SMS. That was my point. I would pay for it if it was here. Thanks for thread crapping though.
I was a fan of line2 for the longest while but then switched over to freephoneline.ca, purchased the voip settings for a one time charge of $50 and have been using SIP clients on my laptop, smartphones and tablets for the past little while.
I switched from line2 over to freephoneline due to lack of SMS. The voice quality is just as excellent.
Dell voice uses the same infra as freephoneline. It's a great app if you don't have your own SIP client!
