SH07B - Waterproof query

I was wondering if anyone has actually submerged their SH07B (or any other waterproof phone) into water to take pictures?

I'm going to be travelling to the Great Barrier Reef soon and was hoping to use it to take pictures underwater, but I wouldn't want to risk it without some opinions.

I personally wouldn't use it underwater for any length of time - as it isn't supposed to be used for such activities. It would almost certainly break due to the higher pressure.

I put mine into a glass of water, whilst recording a video. Aside from that, I used it in the rain a few times.

I don't think it's designed to sustain pressure from underwater use. In a shower or a shallow swimming pool, sure, but I wouldn't risk using it that far underwater.

The phone is waterproof but its not labeled as an Underwater phone.

I wouldn't recommend you doing that.

It's IP5/7 rated so you can immerse it in water up to 1m for 30 minutes. But use the waterproofing as a safety measure rather than its purpose. If you want to take pictures underwater, then get a waterproof camera.
