I have an LG Cosmos from about 8 months ago when Unleashed hit the market. The phone is ok but I'm not in love with it. I let the payments lapse after trying it out a few mos and stuck with my post-pay plan. I'm thinking of getting on the $50 prepaid plan permanently now, and am wonder what is the most full-featured phone? Can I get Gmail using POP3 on this Cosmos or do I have to pay extra for that? I'd love to get one that can play MP3, and the LG extravert fits the bill, but I read that its got a memory glitch, and the Samsung intensity II is a piece of crap according to CNET reviews. What do all of you recommend?
I recommend Page Plus's new $55 plan promo that allows unlimited tak/text/1 gig data if you sign up for auto pay before Feb 29, 2012. After March 1, the data reverts to 500 megs. They allow way more phone choices then Verizon unleashed does. If you use this plan non stop, they will allow you to keep one gig for one year. Page Plus runs on the Verizon network and has the same coverage as Verizon prepaid. Plus they allow most Verizon smartphones except for prepaid ones, lte/4g and the iphone cdma.
Thanks for the reply. I only see 4 kyocera phones listed, none of which look very appealing, and only the cheapest one seems to have an MP3 player. But youre saying that I could sign up for the plan and snag a used verizon Android from ebay or somewhere and activate it on Page Plus?
how is the palm pixi plus? Its got MP3 and wifi, and its not a slider (which I didnt really like about the LG cosmos). It gets good ratings and its dirt cheap! I would try this out on Page Plus.
I looked at the Pixi plus but when it came down to it, I decided just to go android. Its easy enough to find something under $100 in the android lineup. I have an original Droid now, and will have a Droid X on Monday. A day or two after that I will have an Incredible showing up. Ill probably activate 2 of them on PPC and keep the third for backup.
After reading this post I went to page plus to check it out bc I am with verizon and want a better phone than what verizon offers on their pre pay plan. They do have excellent coverage but I could not find anywhere that said I could use a phone bought from verizon.
There is a Page Plus forum just below this one. Most used Verizon phones are OK if they were used for contract service and de-activated in good standing (not lost / stolen / unpaid bill). Prepaid ones do not work.

They could definitely do a better job marketing themselves. They should make a big deal about offering BYOD since they are the only Verizon prepaid that offers that. They don't support all devices (prepaids, blackberries) but they do support most other phones. They just strike me as a company that does not want to grow as they put little effort into marketing themselves.
I brought over my LG Octane recently and there's a lot of action with Androids although their data offering is weak compared to some others out there but again, they have the Verizon network going for them.
