Can't get search and local scout to work on a Focus S

I just got my Focus S in the mail today but I can't seem to get bing search and local scout to work. I switched apn under celluar to straight talks but I still can't get these things to work. If I go to internet explorer, i can search things fine.

I put in my friend's T-mobile prepaid sim (from tmobile not ST) and it worked, so it must be something with the ATT sim/network. Anybody have sugguestions?

Don't use the proxy, that's what I've been doing.
