New BB user, need help with syncing email account on Bold 9900

Hey guys, just wondering if someone can help me out.

I receive my Gmail emails on my Bold 9900. Problem is, if I've read the new emails on my computer first, they still show up as unread emails on my Bold.

Is there a setting I can use that will make it so that if I've read emails on another device, the emails will no longer show up in the notification bar? As it is right now, all new messages show up in the notification bar, despite having read the emails already on my computer.

Also, there is 1 Facebook notification that won't go away. There's nothing in the notification center, and I've opened and refreshed Facebook, but that 1 notification is still there.

This is a really old issue with BIS. Nothing you can do about it.

Was there not an action (Messages> Menu key> Reconcile Now), or a setting (Messages> Options> Email Settings/Reconciliation: Mailbox Wins) to resolve this? sorry haven't used BIS in a VERY VERY long time.

Read/Unread message status will sync eventually in GMail, but there is nothing you can do to speed up the process. Some providers won't sync at all. My Apple/iCloud syncs almost immediately. GMail takes a little longer, and Hotmail doesn't sync at all for me.

Thank you, that does seem to be the case... the emails do sync eventually. Reconcile doesn't seem to do anything though.

I wish there were a setting that would allow me to check manually instead, but there doesn't seem to be.

agreed...however Google use to have a gmail app that sync really fast...but they don't support blackberry's anymore and yes it takes a while but eventually they sync.
