Softbank 740SC SMS Problem - Received Times Not Displaying Properly

Has anyone using/used the Softbank 740SC experienced this problem as well? It appears that all times of the texts I receive are 5 hours behind the actual time... I've tried going through the phone to see if it's fixable. I've tried changing the world times (both to my local time), and I've also tried restarting the phone after setting the time from automatic, to manual, and back to automatic...

I don't know how to fix this. It's kind of annoying when you receive texts in the middle of the night or when you're busy and quickly glance at your messages, and then the received time throws you off...

If anyone knows how to fix this or knows what's possibly causing this, that would be very much appreciated!

Further investigation shows apparently if you use an unlocked phone that doesn't belong to Rogers/Fido, your received SMS timestamps will be 5 hours behind... Has anyone else experienced this issue with other unlocked phones?

I had that with my nexus one back in the day. there was an Android app to fix the timestamps on incoming sms and mms,but I suppose you don't have Android...

I think that issue has something to do with auto-update of time on the phone. I remember my 705SH back in the days had that issue but my timestamps for SMS was behind by 12 hours.
