    handset return policy

hi guys i know the policy to return a phone or smartphone is 30min or less of talk time and 50mb or less of data but i was wondering if that data is from using the network data or does it includes wifi data usage?

The general policy is 15 days or 30 minutes of billed airtime, in new condition with the receipt, packaging and all of the accessories to the store where you purchased it from. If you ordered by phone and it was delivered there should have been a return waybill and envelope that came with it. There is no data/sms requirement or limit. You should check the receipt or paperwork that came with the phone as any other return policies would be listed there.

Some private dealers have and CAN enforce a data limit as they are responsible for selling returned items that fall within these return periods. As DH mentioned, check the paperwork you received with your phone.

How would they go about selling such items?

That is....I've never seen hardware for sale in stores under this 'returned' nomer. I do occasionally see stores try to pawn off such devices as hups or new activations telling people "oh it's just as good as now, it was just opened up to have a look at" LOL.

I got my phone from Best Buy Canada. I read the contract but it had a Rogers logo on it. Therefore I am unsure if that contract is with Rogers or with BB. On that contract it only mentions 30mins or less of call time and nothing about data. Does anyone know what is BB's return policy?

I asked them and the sale associate told me there's a 50mb cap but again I don't know if that's meant for mobile data or wifi (in which includes mobile data). It didn't occur to me at that time so that's why I didn't ask.

Best Buy's return policy is "14 days". Rogers policy compliments Best Buy's policy. I don't think BB has 50MB stated anywhere (not on website, not on receipt).

Because the rep doesn't want to get stuck with a used phone that has to be "sold as new"...and Bubble.Tea, Best Buy has tried this before on a friend of mine.

wow that's funny. I was having a chat with them and this guy himself returned a phone (google nexus for S2 LTE). Kinda hypocritical don't you think?
