Cricket Activation Help

Not sure where to turn, I have a brand new kyocera domino that I bought. It was still in the box and everything was sealed, I personally opened the box myself. It seems as though it is the older model of the kyocera domino. At least when I go to activate it online it won't activate. I called the customer service, and the rep I spoke with told me that it is an older model and they can't activate it, she did tell me that there is no account tied to the phone or number attached. Which there should not be, it was in the box brand new and sealed.

I don't know where to turn. How can I get my phone activated otherwise? Any help is much appreciated by far.

it might be a paygo phone, see if walmart or best buy can do it

So, Do I need to just go to my local walmart and get them to scan the barcode?
