Depends on if you're looking for single line, or family. If single, I think the cheapest is 69.99 (+ 10.00 more for premium aka "unlimited data"), so you're looking at at least 79.99 for a single line. If you get any type of business discount, that can knock it down a little bit however.
Buy the "rights" to a Sprint SERO plan from someone on eBay. These rare plans also occasionally come up for sale in "take over my plan" section here on howard forums. You should expect to pay someone between $100 - $150 for the transfer, but it's money well spent considering the discounted plan. There are 2 different kinds of plans:
1) $30 SERO - Feature phones only (no smartphones)
-500 anytime min
-Free N&W starting at 7pm
-unlimited text
-unlimited data
-unlimited picture mail
2) $40 SERO Premium (works with lower end 3G smartphones)
- includes all of the above features plus
- unlimited calls to any cell phone (which essentially means you'll only use your anytime min when you call landlines)
- GPS Navigation
If you want an iPhone or any 4G device, it requires the $40 SERO premium plan + a $10 premium data bolt-on
Total Monthly Recurring Charge = $50 + taxes for everything above
It's the best deal in wireless and it gives you a low cost way to enjoy Sprint's unlimited data. It will save you $30 - $50 a month off of Sprint's regularly published rate. So imagine in 5 months, you've already recovered the $150 acquisition cost. In 2 years (the average contract time), you'll save a minimum of $720 (using a 4G device or iPhone)...or up $960 (using lower end 3G smartphone like Optimus or Transform Ultra)
*NOTE* Usually you must provide your own phone for these types of transactions. The transfer FEE typically does not include a device...so it may be worth you time to calculate the up front cost. (approximately $150 plus a whatever the device runs you on craigslist or wherever you want to buy it). I got a mint condition Epic (the original one) for $100 on craigslist last month. I recommend it.
The SERO Plan does seem pretty good. Can anyone tell me how it compares to Boost Mobile for $55 a month though?
I think it comes down to Boost Mobile Unlimited everything on Sprint native coverage being $40.00 retail, officially limited to their handset offerings.
While SERO I'm pretty sure you have the same roaming options other Sprint postpaid plans have. I believe you would be able to get better devices and subsidized? but others will chime in with accurate details on SERO. While I have no issues streaming radio whenever I'm roaming, the amount you're able to do so can be an issue. If roaming capability on Sprint postpaid for you is more piece of mind for a 911 call, you may be aware that this is free to do so on Boost Mobile while in VZW roaming areas - hence the "911 ONLY" message when roaming.

Those are the replacements to the original SERO plans. They are only about $10/mo less than regular Sprint plans, but thet are legit and much easier to obtain than the old SERO plans. You can sign up for one right now if you follow the instructions in the last post.
The difference with the original SERO plans and Boost Mobile is that you are able to use iconic phones like the iPhone, and the entire 4G lineup on them. With Boost, the coverage is mostly the same (more on that later) but you are limited only to Boost branded devices. Which in general, are either older Sprint models, or exclusive models that only operate on the 3G network.
Coverage on Boost is limited exclusively to the native Sprint network. This is fine in most places, btw. But you don't get the benefit of Sprint's roaming partnerships that you would if you were on a Sprint plan. Again, it's probably unlikely that this effects you, but if you live in/near a rural area without native Sprint coverage, you will have zero roaming capability.
I think with 2 or more lines all being Smartphones, the Everything Plus Referral Plan makes sense. But with a single line there seems to be many options and variables involved, barring a 25% employer discount etc. With a 25% employer discount a single line comes out to $62.49/mo (+taxes & fees) vs the $79.99/mo retail price. However, anyone can qualify for the above or add at least a simple 10% discount to a current account.
I have VZW now but I have considered moving to Sprint. VZW is ridiculous with surcharges and fees. Does Sprint have a lot of fees on top of the plan or just taxes/
That employee referral program seems better than buying out a SERO plan. Looks like it is only $10 a month more.

My $50 plan comes out to $57 after taxes. Of course that rate varies depending on where you live
The employee referral plan is actually $20 more than SERO. It's $59.99/mo plus $10/mo more for any smartphone.
