I like the idea behind having a larger phone with a stylus for note-taking, but I need some time to handle it before I commit to something that large. And with the way AT&T executives have been behaving lately (throttling, not rolling out HSPA+ to our area, etc.), I may decide to leave AT&T anyway, though there are rumors that Verizon will get a version of the Note as well.

It looks like SoCal has a lot of HSPA+ to me, and my experiences down there bear that out. Where in SoCal are you? They have been rolling out HSPA+ w/Enhanced Backhaul at a pretty good clip here in rural NorCal (I'm in Mendocino County in NW CA myself, but a SoCal native).
Back to the Note, it looks nice, and the advanced stylus seems cool, but I think it's probably a bit too big for me. At 4.5 Inches, the Skyrocket does juuuuust right.
Yeah inagress with what u said i dont like how ATT is run period, i was going to just buy the note and then use it om tmobile,mi thoight that ut would work on there 3G or 4G NETWORK.
@ilvla2: I'm in Santa Barbara, which is a noticeable gap in AT&T HSPA+ coverage. Interestingly, Verizon has had LTE here since last fall, even though Ventura and other more populated areas still lack it.

When I was on T-Mobile (G1) it was constantly faster on that network than then IPhone 3GS on AT&T.
TMO's network just isn't as crowded and being a budget carrier, not as many smartphones and data devices on it. Sure its more than when I was on it in 2008-2009 but that should still be the case, considering all the IPhone's, IPad's, Android Phones and Tablets on AT&T.
The Note isn't too big, its roughly the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 if you need to hold it to see if its for you, head down to Best Buy its own display there.
Some Best Buys already have the dummy Notes in stock if you want to hold one. I bought the international version almost 4 months ago and have been enjoying it immensely! AT&T sucks big ones for taking so long to release phones these days. But, that's what sim cards GSM standards are for...
Anyways, it took maybe a day to get used to the size, and now there is no way I can ever go back to a phone with a smaller display! When I pick up someone else's phone I feel like a giant holding a toy, and actually using it is cramped and uncomfortable. The Note's 5.3" 1280x800 AMOLED display is gorgeous, and browsing the web, taking pics and scribbling notes on them with the s-pen (not just a stylus) are a pleasure. The s-pen uses Wacom inductive technology with pressure sensitivity in the pen, itself; much different than the stylii of old.
