Belle and Google Maps

Been running an unofficial Belle ROM for awhile, found that if WiFi is OFF then Google Maps crashes on start every time. With WiFi switched ON (doesn't need to be connected) I have never had an issue.

I have the official Belle on North American unbranded N8. Switching WiFi on does do the trick!

I re-installed it, and it work again.. we will see how long it lasts. There is a problem for sure, but I doubt Google will update it ever again

I don't need to do any special tricks for it to work on my official Belle N8. WiFi on or off works fine. I loaded using the Nokia browser from Google. My phone was a clean refurb Belle install so no lingering apps or OS versions were on it.

Ya.. its the wi-fi on mine, i just tested it.. works with it on, crash on boot on off. I don't know if its worth it for me to do another clean install because of it.

On another note, I don't know what they've done with the wi-fi scanning but it doesn't seem to consume any battery when you have wi-fi on "on" .. they took away the ability to turn off the scanning, but... i guess it kind of happens in the background now.
