I do not have a BT headset but I do have BT in the car for calls and to stream music. It works great in the car but that might be different.
I almost want a BT ear piece because it does feel like I am holding a laptop against my head when I make calls.

Group, There is an app in the Google Play store called Volume Plus+. It's a $1.99 app but does solve the low BT audio from a A2DP headset. FYI

Ive seen in another forum where someone had an issue where the phone signal(network) shuts off when it enters stand-by mode(blank screen)? Can some one please advise if this is a one off situation. Im planning to purchase one.

Crismoto, Ive been over using this phone over a month now, no issue. No slowdowns, freezes, nothing. For the price, go for it. ...Side note I know it is so hard to look at a 3.5" screen now. OMG. BLU studio is addicting. Threw my sim chip in my Nokia N8 and was a tough day. Came home and back to BLU.

Crismoto, no issues with BLU studio at all. Ive been using over a month straight out of the box not modified. Works fine for me. No freezing, nothing. Id say go for it and buy. Beware...once you use the 5.3" screen, there is no going back (to 3.5")...Tom

Have you tried android injector? It forces to install an apk without the need of rooting it. Problem though is you cannot update it through market. Must download the latest apk again

Crismoto, I haven't DL flash player. For what I use the BLU studio, it plays everything. Is there a website you are looking for? What use do you have for flash player ? Im not the most tech savvy guy on the board, what do you need flash player for above what is available on gingerbread 2.3.5 which is what is on this phone/tab? I think Im putting this device through its paces and it is staying up to the demand. maybe a new forum post (maybe not) but I use my BLU Studio 5.3 for ...Phone,web,camera,music player (600 songs on sd card), stream Pandora,Slacker radio,ESPN gamecast, Wonder radio live stream scanner/weather service broadcast, 3 weather links with live radar, forecast. I Easy tether my netbook (app) flawlessly, check email daily. Just used google nav beta with voice nav for a 600 mile road trip. I have my store loyalty cards on Key ring app, Opened a kindle account. I got this BLU pushed to the limits. I forgot Opera mobile and all web links including you tube. So....What is the flash player for...Maybe im in the dark.
PS) For everyone on the fence, still thinking, This phone does do it all and the 650mhz processor is more than capable of running everything listed above. Tom

dragon2knight - thanks for your review and starting this thread. Got my blu studio 5.3 now and with only a handful of apps, the internal storage is full. only 200mb total there. I also installed a 32GB sd card and went thru all apps to move them over. Any way to get others that are "stuck" internally to move? I have Kingsoft Office, Maps, Google Play Store, WhatsApp, and Gmail (all came with the phone). Thanks

Guys i need to ask some questions before i buy the phone

-Does it support the 3g band 2100 which is used in almost every country in the world except a few which uses the bands 850/1900(usa included) ?
-Does viber and other voip programs work ( voice only)
-can you update the pre-installed skype?
-has anyone tried to install flash? did it work?
-has anyone tried the 800mhz processor?
-does it come with a us warranty (has anyone tried to use the warranty)?
    -is the screen scratch resistant?

Thank you very much and sorry for asking all these questions =D

1st android phone (leaving Blackberry) - so far, so good Did a lot of research b4 choosing Blu, and decided that the unlocked "phablet" sized like a Galaxy Note would be a good alternative when I didn't want to lug a laptop or tablet. The downside of little internal storage has turned out not to be an issue because it rooted quickly, and optimized easily.

I used a Windows 7 pc, and preloaded Java jdk and Android sdk. SuperOneClick 2.3.3 rooted the Blu so quickly I was amazed. It took a bit to figure out that when connected to the pc, I need to drag down from the top of Blu's screen to connect the mass storage. Once backed up and loaded w/books and music, it's been easy getting used to a phone twice the size of the bbCurve.

I'm not a hacker, just an end user who does plenty of research and follows directions. This Blu Studio's a pretty good investment for a smart phone; just know that it's not as high caliber as a Note.

The sim (T-Mobile) works without a hitch, and it's nice to be able to shop plans without a contract hanging over my head.

YouTube plays well, but not with HD clarity. Music sounds good, but I didn't hear any differences when tweaking the equalizer. Play Store, Kindle, Ebay, etc., all work as expected.

That being said, I'm bummed that I can't get Skype Video to work, and it doesn't like most video formats (might have been a deal breaker had I known that up front, mea culpa). I've found a few links that suggest tweaking command lines to get Netflix working. Hoping to find one for Mobo as well. I suspect that the hardware's not up to it, but will play around some more and will follow up if I get it working.

A trimmed Note sized screen protector renders my stylus less useful than my fingertips, and I haven't found a rubberized or neoprene case anywhere, so will probably get the backup battery w/cover from Ebay. All in all, I think I'm going to enjoy using this for a while, particularly because the price point's so good, and the functionality's still better than bb (so far).
