    Which Insurance Plan....iPhone 4S?

I am getting my wife the Iphone 4s. I am seeing that there are several insurance options. I am mostly concerned about my wife damaging the phone after seeing how she treats all of her past phone. It looks live the insurance through VZ is very expensive with a high deductable. Any suggestions on which one to get? Thanks

Highly recommend the appleare+, its $99 for 2 years protection, you have 2 accidental damage coverage with a deductible of $49. No monthly and high deductible. You need to get it when you buy the phone.

*edit* i also recommend having a case, anything to protect the phone is always a plus. I have an incase candyshell and the film protector against scratches. Some people like some ases over others.

Thanks.....yes, this sounds like a good choice. However when I called Apple they told me I have 30 days from the date of purchase.

Cool! I would still get it first day and get it out of the way, i know someone who dropped it the first day and declined the protection saying he takes good care of it.

I got it day one just in case.

I would recommend an Otter Box although most women refuse to use them. Otherwise Apple care is probably the best choice although you will still end up with a refurbished phone when you make a claim. They will call it a new phone but the serial number will say otherwise.

A replacement LCD will cost you about $130 professionally installed so you might weigh that into the equation.

I am guessing that AppleCare would cover the cost to replace an LCD (minus the deductible, of course)?

I recommend best buys blacktie plan. You can insure an iphone from everything except theft. Even if you didn't buy your phone from bestbuy you can still buy insurance for your phone there. Bestbuy insurance covers alot more than applecare.

I have to agree with rodrigogar about the Applecare, that's what we got for my wife's Iphone and for $99 for 2 years of coverage it covers everything except lost/stolen devices. I just went to Best buy's site and it appears their insurance plan for the Iphone is $230 for 2 years. I couldn't find anything indicating it covers lost/stolen devices so IMO the Applecare is a much better deal. If you want coverage for a potential lost or stolen phone then I think your only option is Verizon's insurance.

That is true. THe only difference is you have to buy it at an Apple retails store by making a genius appt. Need to also bring orignal proof of purchase.
