Opera did not load signed verion on LG800? (also LG qwerty in opera??)
I went to opera via the LG800 (through T-Mobile).
It said there was no version supported.
I went through a few more screens to get to download options and selected 6.5 download.
This turned out to be unsigned!
How do I get the signed version?
Also, I thought I read that we could use the LG qwerty instead of the Opera one.
I have very large fingers!
How do we do the LG qwerty in opera?
I figured out how to get the LG qwerty to work in opera.
I had to go to the advanced settings and turn orr the opera keyboard - set to never.
Then when you want to type, you get what looks like a notepad and if you click the screen you get the qwerty...then you type and hit ok.
Kind of klunty, but the LG keyboard is much better for me so it is still faster!
danmirage,
To get the signed version of Opera Mini on the LG800G:
Goto m.opera.com on your phone. On the page it brings up select "Other download options", on the page that brings up go way down the page near the bottom until it says "Options for Opera Mini 6.5" and click-on the "Select Code-Signing Certificate". On the page that brings up select "All certificates" then on the next page you select "Download Opera Mini 6.5" and that will get you Opera Mini 6.5 with signed certificates.
Here is what the navigation ends up with: "http://m.opera.com/?act=lp&tag=mini5®ion=en-us&cert=all"
Just type this into the browser (without the quotation marks) and you will get Opera Mini 6.5.
Lisme, I saw your post in another thread and used that address.
In the browser, I typed in "http://m.opera.com/?act=lp&tag=mini5®ion=en-us&cert=all"
It went to an opera page that said download, and at the bottom "download and Read More"
Selecting either download results in the "no T-mobile download for your device..."
At the bottom of that message it says I can download some public opera mini version
I went there and at the bottom of that page it did say "Other download options" so I went to that link and once there, I could select the version.
I never saw the "Options for Opera Mini 6.5" and "Select Code-Signing Certificate"
They were very far down the page, so I missed them the first time!
I have it now and it is done asking me for permission for every page!
Thank you!!
I was not aware that T-Mobile data service would cause a hitch with the Opera Mini download procedure. I guess everyone so far has been on AT&T. I can't figure out the direct link for the T-Mo Opera Mini download, if there is one, because I don't have any T-Mo phones.
You did a good job.
