    2. display
    3. Battery life
My razr battery life wasn't great at all. The non removable battery is a mistake. Moving to the AMOLED screen was a good move. Motorola screens have been down right laughable compared to their competition. It would've been even better if it had hd. The razr software is great, but you need a head turner.

My wife's iphone was ready to be replaced, so i needed a phone with a sim card for her, so i ordered the s3. I knew the 3 things i care about would be addressed. She is using my old razr and hates it. I'm buying her an iphone when they release.

As far as Motorola trying to take apple clientele, all phone companies are, especially Samsung. Look at the apple similarities. People love apple because it's simple and just works. I like both.
Sent from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy SIII
My whole point is that an OEM trying to hard to directly mimic iPhone hardware is bound to fail. The SIII is really an Anti-iPhone as it's huge and plastic. The RAZR HD is going to be so close to the iPhone 5 that only an extreme android fan that doesn't want a real big screen will be interested.

There just isn't a huge market of BIG android fans is the problem with this approach. I think there is a bigger market than Apple is assuming for these larger screened devices they refuse to sell though. I really think MOST of Android's success has been derived from offering DIFFERENT hardware options that can be had with Apple with the not so techgeek enthusiast set that have ended up with them.

We'll see, but Moto has been struggling a lot financially and needs better success to not be a burden as part of Google. I just haven't seen much related to this HD that tells me it'll be a sure success.

Yes, that is the crux of it. Apple attracts the relatively homogeneous 'silent majority' of conventional sorts that flee questions and complications.

Android is for the disparate mass of other folks who don't mind being different, the secret rebels -- those that like choice and freedom and can put up with a bit of chaos to have them.

Of course, like all stereotypes, those are generalized oversimplifications that may not perfectly describe any individual.

Because Apple-lovers tend toward centrist and conventional thinking they will be very hard to dislodge. WP8 will have a much better chance of picking up Android types than either will have of adding Apple people to their rosters.

    So, as Jasaero points out:

The army of the serpent's gift already holds the high ground. A frontal assault on Cupertino is suicide, "over the top" for sure! Android can't succeed by copying the Apple model of restricting choice in the interest of reliable stability. Android will live or die by providing flexibility and breadth of choice. Lock down my bootloader or my battery? I'll start looking for one that's unlocked. Might not jump ship -- yet -- but I'm less happy. Delete my SD card or my tethering app? Might not jump ship -- yet -- but I'm less happy. Forgot about my QWERTY keyboard? There's one on the Surface Pro, hmmm. *Another* bloody red PenTile? Takes six months to unwrap my new butterscotch Jelly Bean toy? . . . Well, you get the idea.

If Apple were to betray its vision there would be a mass exodus, because its customer base is broadly homogeneous. Android is a loose amalgam of various sorts that will exit in drips and drabs if they don't get what they need. So, limiting choice in the Android milieu will lead, not to sudden death, but rather to slow attrition -- which is exactly what Moto is experiencing.

    It's about vision.

And this RAZR HD won't turn the tide.

Everyone is pointing out the comment from some guy called Gary Hicks, "Droid RAZR HD. With locked bootloader of course." Pretty sure he has the most "likes" on his comment of anyone, but still only 11 likes.

You can tell on the quality of the leaks, it has an inverse relationship to the degree people remain on topic.

Not sure I get this comment at all? It's not going to look like the leaked pic's with kevlar back, or have 2530mah battery, or ColorBoost LCD of lesser size than SIII, or Qualcomm S4 of some variety, or have a locked and encrypted BL? None of that? So the battery is replaceable, the screen is 5"+, and hit with a BL unlocked or unlocking option on DAY ONE??

Will be very curious to see what I am expecting to be true, that is not. Even if it's a 4.8" ColorBoost screen and chassis smaller than SIII, which I tend to doubt from leaked pics, that would still be lesser screen than SIII.

Not yet. Will be daily clues though until Friday. Doubting it's gonna be anything to earth shattering though unless it actually is the RAZR HD and details are publicized with these hints??

Still confused by Susurro's comments more than anything though. Can't even gather if he thinks we have been on or off topic? And really can't compute what inverse means? Is good leak inverted to off topic? Have we been off topic?

And here's the latest found on the FB page.

Motorola Our "Guess the Smartphone" Facebook post references a device that is already available in the U.S. market. It is a game intended to engage with the Facebook community surrounding features of this pre-existing device.

The new FB posts says its already available in the US from Motorola. So strike the RAZR HD.

And here I thought I was the only person left in America that had never visited Facebook.

Either the MAXX or, more likely, not a phone -- a tablet, Xoom2?
Really, I think I've missed the point of the exercise . . .

I don't have a Facebook account either (or a Twitter or any of those social networks: HoFo is as close as I come to online social networks). I guess I'll just wait until Friday to see what Moto does.
