I bought a used Google Nexus on ebay. After purchasing and receiving the phone it had basically what amounted to 2 different esn #s. 1 was on the sticker under the battery and a totally different one under settings "about phone". I called to activate it on a prepaid carrier (Zapp byod) and told them that I didnt know why the phone had 2 different #s. The CSR said it might have been flashed but give them the #s and they will look up the msl codes. Well they both came back as clean and with 2 different msl codes. So we tried to activate the phone but it wouldnt let us do the 1st step of ##msl code#. it would just sit there for both esn msl codes. So the CSR said to do a complete reset of the phone so we did a ##786# and once again nothing happened. The CSR said that the ##786# is the reset for all sprint phones.
So my question is is there another way to program the phone or reset it. What else can I do? THE CSR said the phone could have been flashed but if thats the case why would sprint have the msl codes if the phone was flashed to another carrier? is there a way to find out what carrier it was flashed to and or a way to reverse the flash? I really like this phone and would love to use it but cant get into it to program the service.
