Pricing options on Sprint if I already own an iPhone 4S
Let's say that I own a Sprint iPhone 4S with a clean ESN and I want to activate it on a brand new Sprint account...
What kind of monthly price can I expect to pay? I am looking at the $79.99 Everything Data plan w/ 450 mins.
I am eligible for a corporate discount that puts that plan at $62.49 before tax (with a subsidized phone). If I own my device are there any additional discounts?
I'm looking at an iPhone 4S right now and would rather buy and go month-to-month rather than deal with a 2-year contract. Thanks!

You can bring your own device, however, for some reason Sprint will still require a 2 year contract, they no longer offer month to month. As far as cost, it'd be 69.99 (price of the plan), minus whatever discount you get, plus the 10.00 premium data fee (only the 69.99 is discountable).
Ok... So, let's say I wanted the latest and greatest iPhone when it comes out. Will I be able to get it on contract price without paying an ETF? My main reason for buying one now is that I want to upgrade but don't want to be stuck on contract with an old iPhone when the new one comes out.

Yes, you will retain your "new phone" eligibility, since you're bringing your own device, and not taking advantage of new customer pricing, you can get a new phone at new customer pricing at any time, keep in mind that they'll require you to extend 2 years from that date, so if you're 6 months in, and you get a new phone, you're basically extending your contract 6 more months from the original period.

Sign up for service, wait a week and call account services as if you were going to disconnect your line.
Explain to them that you will not be held to a contract since you brought your own device and you will port out tomorrow if they don't erase your contract.

Thats not true, you can still activate without any contract.
I just added a 4th line, i did it with account services.
Most of the sprint representatives at any store will tell you no.

Seems pretty weak that they don't give a discount on the service if you own the phone AND try to tie you into 2 years. Maybe no one else does that anymore either. Don't know, always just went the route of get the device at contract price and hold out for 2+ years. Now that things change so fast it makes it a little more difficult. Since it's not going to save me anything I might as well just go full on contract.

Ok, I was basing my statement on the "standard avenue" for activation/signing up. I know it *can* be done, I was just answering the question in the most general of terms.
