3 year contract disappears into thin air! (miracle or curse?)

Let's keep this short and sweet. I signed up with Fido on December 2010 and got a subsidized ($50) phone with the 3 year contract ($25/month, 150 daytime minutes, evenings and weekends at 5pm, unlimited texting). For several months they misplaced my account and could not access it/see it with traditional means (they had to use some "other" program or something where you could see it but not edit it). Anyways, that cleared itself up.

It's February 2012. A Fido rep phones me offering a $5/month discount if I sign up for a 24 month agreement. I tell him I'll think about it. I phone Fido and the rep tells me I'm not on an agreement, after she does some digging. I'm paying on a monthly basis apparently! My agreement is supposed to expire December 2013.

Can I phone into retentions and get a better deal? Since the records show that I've never been on contract will they even take me seriously? Thanks for your feedback in advance.

That's normal dude... After november 2010, 'regular' aka dumphones [which sounds like it] was a 2yr plan max.

Smartphones were 3yrs mandatory with a separate data agreement.
