Will MetroPCS ever release Windows Phone 7 phones?
I've only gotten a brief glimpse at one and I've seen them in action, but I think MetroPCS would benefit from WP7 Phones as most have the same specs as some mid/mid-high range android phones and yet they dance circles around them in terms of performance. Plus, they might be priced just as competitively as an Android phone and some more choice for our "wireless freedom for all" carrier would be nice. Is this likely to change in 2012 or will Metro PCS just keep ignoring other options? (like upgrading the blackberry line with more than just one phone)
i agree that it would be nice to have the options, but i know metro is pushing android hard core... it's their bread and butter right now... would metro benefit from wp7? probably, as i know many people that want only that!
No offense when it comes to pc im windows 100% when it comes to smartphones android pwns them all. with that being said ive seen the last tech show where they instroduced new android phones and microsoft phones and the dude there was claiming that his phone could get to twitter or facebook faster than some1's nexus and i was like i dont care about getting to a social network faster than the next smartphone. my only main reason for choosing an android over any other smartphone os is simple i can modify the crap out of it i can change my rom i have a huge selection of thousands of apps from the app market.right now microsoft is sucking so bad at their app productivity that no real app dev is even taking them serious, i even have a friend with the htc with microsoft on it an similiar apps we get on android market free they have to pay $3.99??????
so when it comes to comparing smartphones to smartphone lol dont even bother trying to compare windows to android. Right now the real war has been between apples and microsoft in the smartphone world and as well as the computer world but think about this apple with the largest app market out there has no prob slapping microsoft around in the mobile world but they dont even dare to even fight back against android??? that should tell u lots!!
Well... some people want choice. Yes, android is fully customizable to your liking . What Windows phone 7 offers is an alternative to iOS and Android.
As far as your statement about Windows phone gettiing to twitter faster ... It was merely showing how Windows phone 7, while using a phone with much less processing power can do things pretty quickly.
I do not work for Microsoft and I like my Android phone, but more choices only drives the manufacturers of all of the tech to put out better products, more of them translates into cheaper phones for all.
With that being said... If I would've listened to all of my friends when they said " Hey man you have to get an Ipod or an Ipod touch ," I would've never have purchased a Zune HD 16GB which is in my opinion the best mp3 or audio player as far as build and sound quality and it came out over 2 years ago.
Me, owning an android, I am actually jealous of my friends HD7 with Mango. It's so smooth and responsive, hardly crashes, and I really dig the interface
yea choice is good but i guess i was thinking as a salesman point of view like deciding if i would make good money selling microsoft smart phones. i already have my friends drooling over my lg esteem while they find their microsoft smartphone useless.
Android devices are cheaper to purchase and offer a lot of easy customization for MetroPCS. This is why we haven't seen a WP7 device, nor have we seen newer BlackBerries. Budget provider, free wins.
When Windows Phone comes out with LTE + CDMA phones (not just CDMA), then Metro might be a year or so away from offering a Win Phone. You know, like Verizon getting one -- then you might consider MetroPCS getting one. All Verizon has is a CDMA-only Windows phone.
This year 3 LTE Windows Phone models are allegedly coming, but all to AT&T (and are LTE + GMS):
Right now Metro is pushing LTE hard. And "LTE phones" for the CDMA carriers who have LTE (Verizon, MetroPCS, Cricket -- and soon, Sprint), that means Android phones. Period. Blackberry doesn't compete and neither does Microsoft yet -- as neither have come up with LTE phones that can run on Verizon/MetroPCS/Cricket/Sprint networks.
There's still mountains to conquer in Android land. We still don't have an ICS LTE phone yet, for goodness sake.

Your creed may be interesting, but your deeds are much more convincing.
^^^ you damn right chazz and you know what im not gonna knock microsoft down anymore yes android in my opinion is the elite of all smart phone operation systems but like p-38 said choice is always good. Metro going forward hard with their Lte so i really cant complain about their progress.

Yess i agree. In my opinion i would like to see more diversity in metrocs line up. Android is ok but in my opinion ios is still the king. Both windows and ios are more faster and look more polished or somethin of that sort. Blackberry is just wow (not in a good way) i just hope metro can finally get an iphone and better signal
Android phones are Cheaper to make, and easier to sell.
Yes options would be nice, and im sure there might be a few who would buy it, but they fit in such a small minority, that I dont see it becoming a priority any time soon.
Windows mobile 7 is struggling to compete. Rim is struggling to compete. Whats the benefit to the carrier?
another thing to consider is metro did have a microsoft device.. the code... granted it was obsolete when released (like a decent amount of metro's phones via their history,) but the people making decisions of which phones metro sees will look at track records, etc... they may not look at the fact that yes, windows certainly has improved since then, but as noted in here before android is free, others cost... why give another shot to microsoft when they just cost? granted, i'm all about choice, but remember metro isn't going to have 50 phones to choose from, i would rather just let them focus on one end and make it awesome for now... android clearly is the winner for the average user (heck if apple could keep up with technology i would even give it to them, but any phone that takes 3 generations to do mms certainly will not see my money...) heck, if apple could see lte instead of evdo while other phones have lte i would even give them some props... terrible i tell ya.
I would like to see a version of the Nokia Lumia 710 on MetroPCS (mid-grade phone)... then a $500 LTE iPhone too. That would give us some alternatives to android... granted I love android but people buy iPhones like crack from a drug dealer and I really like the interface of the new windows OS.
if we compared android phones to iphones and compared people's reason for buying their products we would see amusing responses.Question is do people yous their smart phones to its full pontential? ill say only 40% do the rest just buy it cuz their friend's have one lol.
this video i would recommend all of ya watch if ya havnt yet this my main point!
