Question Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant - People can not hear me on incoming calls, anyone else?

There was a system software upgrade on WIND on Jan 31st or Feb 1st. Since then our family has been having problems with there Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant with incoming calls where people can not hear us, but we can hear them. Making calls outbound, no issues at all. We have 2 accounts in Vancouver, and 2 account in Calgary, all them have Samsung Vibrants on them with custom roms. I have tried with the factory shipped firmware on the Samsung Vibrant, and the same issue. I have tried my sim card with a WIND phone (Huawei U3200), and no problems with calls. It appears it is with the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant.

Does anyone with a Samsung Vibrant on the WIND network have this problem, or is your incoming calls working perfect??? Would love to hear on this post, as I am trying to trouble shoot.

    Thanks

    Thumbs up My Solution Update

I have taken one of the Samsung Vibrants and flashed it from Froyo to ICS Passion V13. This has solved the problem for now. It has a mute/unmute bug fix in V13. I am not sure what radio image/kernal it has in the ICS Passion, maybe that resolved the problem. This was my solution to the problem today....but the Froyo custom ROM had worked for the past 2 years with no issues....so I really do thing that there is a WIND network issue.

    Good Luck to all

I'm on Passion ROM and was about to suggest that. Only problem is that the Robot issue still exists. >.<
    Nevermind Bell.. LTE is fine.

I mentioned this in the other thread. Some custom ROMs have a bug where you have to mute/unmute to get the other side to hear you.

Khara/Savbers....the developers log indicated that in version 13 he has rendered a bug fix for the mute/unmute issues, I have not expereinced this issues to date since installation. It would be great to see if you guys flash this new version (V13) and if the mute/unmute bug still occurs on your handset going forward.

I have the newest version and don't experience that issue anymore.

The robot issue is where you sound like a robot to the other side of the call.

Outside of fixing this problem, how does this ROM work overall with the Vibrant? Is it slow / clunky on this hardware? Overall, would you recommend it?

It sounds like a WIND issue. I JUST started having this problem in the last couple months. Never had it before.

I have found the configuration of ICS to be a lot more different than Froyo which I was on. But I have only been running the ICS Passion firmware for the last 3 days, but it appears to be slick and runs very smoothly on my Vibrant. I am not sure why Samsung is reluctant to release an upgrade to Samsung Galaxy S I, they have indicate hardware limitations, but this custom ICS ROM is excellent and stable in its early use. I would recommend it to anyone out there....but make it a clean install of all software therefore there are no legacy issues.

Credit is given to the developer of Vibrant ROM ICS Passion....excellent work

Hi, I finally had some time to look into the passion rom. The problem I'm having is rooting my Vibrant that's on the TMO version of Froyo (all the roots I've found only seem to work on 2.1 - unless you have a PC & I have a Mac). Does anyone have any ideas or links. Thanks in advance.

I have tried ICS Passion V13 RC1 update and it still does not work.
Tried wiping everything clean and starting with stock and no go either.

    Is there a fix?

OK, this is weird. The problem seems to have resolved itself. I have been using a Vibrant since August '10 with no problems whatsoever. Then, around February 1, I started having the mute/unmute problems - the person on the other end couldn't hear me for the first 10-15 seconds after a call connected - every call, without exception. Now, as of today, no problems again. I haven't done anything. Anyone else experienced a "fix" today?

Never had that problem to begin with. Only problem I've had with Passion ROM is that my face would press the Add call button, muting my call without me even noticing. (oh and lag but.. it's just the phone :/)

Yeah this problem seems to be fixed. I was actually able to use my phone normally as of Friday the 17th. There was definitely issues on Wind's end and they have resolved it now.
