I'm not looking to troll, but I'm just trying to find out what kind of advantages that Telus/Bell have over Rogers?
I'm currently on Rogers Wireless and I have been with them since 2004. They've been good and I have about 1.5 years left in my current contract. I've been inquiring about SMB lines and it seems like Telus and Bell have the right plans at the right price. Unfortunately I need to have two lines to get the plan. I can't cancel the Rogers line because I don't want to pay the ECF. I'm debating whether I should keep this line to myself or pass it to one of my brothers. Anyways, can someone tell me what I am gaining by going with Telus? I'm pretty sure coverage in Vancouver and its suburbs are pretty good regardless of whether I'm with Rogers, Telus, or Bell.
Thanks!

If you travel up north a lot, I assure you Telus Mobility is a better choice for coverage. Rogers Wireless just doesn't cut it. They're not making the investment Telus Mobility is. For example, the highway from Clearwater, BC to Valemount, BC is quite covered with Telus.
I'm happy with Rogers, but just wish they'd start investing into coverage instead of rushing out things like LTE to claim they had it first.

What about in Prince Rupert and its surrounding areas? Does Telus/Bell have better coverage there than Rogers?

I can't comment on Prince Rupert as I've only been as far to Terrace, BC in the past year, but my work phone through Telus hardly ever said "searching for network" like my Rogers phone (or going into SOS mode)
With that being said, Telus/Bell definitely have the upper hand on Highway 16 and Highway 97.
In the Greater Toronto Area, I've found Telus to provide superior coverage, call quality and data speeds that Rogers. I switched over from Rogers in November and I'm currently using an iPhone 4S. I'm happy I made the move.

In the GTA its simply a night and day difference between TELUS (and Bell I guess) and Rogers in terms of signal quality and data speed.
My gf is on Rogers and at least once a day she'll have a dropped call. More than that, there will be garbled sounds and various artifacts in the background. Very poor signal in Western Mississauga and Oakville on Rogers as well. Driving from Oakville to Markham, we experience 3-4 dropped calls. She's switching to Telus soon.
"well what's the point of knowing all this stuff about phones if you can't use it to impress girls at parties???"
I just made the switch to Bell from Rogers yesterday, and I already notice a huge difference. Rogers has gone downhill the past year, I used to never get dropped call or anything, and now there were dropped calls on a daily basis, downtown Toronto coverage was terrible, data barely worked. So far I'm really happy with Bell service, coverage is much better and speeds a lot faster. I did a speedtest on both Rogers and Bell at my house in Mississauga, Rogers got 2.3mb/s meanwhile Bell gave me 10mb/s using the mobile hotspot on my Blackberry. Just tried it downtown Toronto, with Rogers I would get 0.6mb/s meanwhile bell gives me 3mb/s. Both tests done on a Blackberry 9900 with the same software.

If you are in Vancouver have a look at city Koodo... They are owned by Telus and use Telus towers
I have been up to Fort Nelson... Telus coverage is pretty decent all the way up...
The main difference for me was call quality. It's just way better on Telus then on Rogers. Like everyone has been saying Rogers signal has gone way down as of late. That's just unacceptable IMO especially for the prices they are charging.
I too have noticed deteriorated voice quality on the Rogers network. It applies to both incoming and outgoing audio. I also sometimes see the standby screen indicating a dropping 3G signal, then loss of signal, then a full-strength 3G signal again (which I assume means that the tower reset). The years-old problem of having 3G signal, but no throughput on voice/text/data, also happens sometimes. It now seems almost silly to try using it when I am at a well-attended event. The network is likely to be jammed.
My other line on the Bell HSPA network remains top-notch for quality and reliability. I have yet another one on the Bell CDMA network that is also rock-solid for voice service. I seldom use it for data, so I cannot speak to that service.

"EVERYONE" would imply me as well, but that's not the case. I've had Rogers for over 3 years and their service HAS NOT been going downhill in the west end of Toronto and in Mississauga where I used it. Sound quality on calls HAS NOT been getting worse. I also have a Telus prepaid SIM that I can use on any of my phones and in back-to-back comparisons of voice quality on the same phones, I find no discernible difference. Now I'm sure there are those who live in areas where your statement may be true, but please refrain from the use of the term EVERYONE (for whom you clearly DO NOT speak).
I remember how Rogers used to have full reception everywhere, and now it goes up and down all the time. One thing that I found to be particularily bad was that driving downtown the signal goes down to just GSM, and in Mississauga both on my Blackberry and iPhone I wasn't able to put a call on hold from call waiting while answering another one for more than 30 seconds because it would drop the call. We'll see if they can get their network up to par soon.
I complained above about voice quality on Rogers above. I should provide detail. While the other issues I posted were long-term ones, the voice quality issue is recent -- from the last few months. It's different from the quality drop that occurs when the network is jammed and the per-call bitrate drops. What is happening recently is that incoming and outgoing voices are low and muffled. This happens for perhaps one call in 4 or 5.. It's not the other party's connection, as I sometimes have to call back from my landline and then the call will be clear. I can only recall this happening in the west end of Ottawa. I don't get many calls when downtown or in other areas.
If I hadn't given up on reporting network quality problems to my carrier (Fido) a long time ago, I'd keep a log of when this happened and complain.
If you go to northern Ontario, you may have different reasons.
Highway 11 from Cochrane to Thunder Bay, Moosonee, Moose Factory, or Saskatchewan you'd be wanting to use Bell.
If you're going on Highway 17 from Sault Ste. Marie through Manitoba, its Rogers (using TBayTel for NW Ontario)
