So in terms of hardware fit and finish, this is the only problem that I ran into with the phone... The right-hand side (search) button makes an audible creaking noise when I press down on it. I was just wondering, has anybody else had this problem?
I sort of feel unwilling to go and exchange the phone and then spend money again to unlock the new one just because of a creaking noise... But I'd appreciate if anybody could chime in with their experiences and/or any advice.
Luckily the search button is the least-commonly used one, and it does work perfectly fine, but it just creaks as I press down on it...
Years ago, while in a campground in Kentucky, I saw an old hillbilly applying WD40 to his knee.
I asked him about that, and he said his knee was creaking.
While personally I'd be concerned about trans-dermal absorption of a petroleum product, he swore it worked for him.
If it works for a knee, would it work for a search button?
Just an idea . . . .

^ Hillbillies do a lot of things that I'd wouldn't want to try. Anyone here old enough to remember Deliverance?
Faruk, did you notice the creaking right from Day 1, or did it get worse? I hope it doesn't work it's way to the other buttons, since they are all just one long button.
I haven't experienced it. Some reviewers mentioned it was a bit stiff for a week, but I haven't noticed that either.

From what I've read in several reviews the one constant gripe is the buttons. Comments range from "ugly & cheap" and "stiff". They don't seem to impact performance though.
Well, the new phone is doing it now as well... I guess I'll just live with it. Too bad I had to go through the trouble of exchanging the phone and paying for another unlock code.
As you say, it doesn't really impact the functionality, but I do find it somewhat annoying. I'm surprised that nobody else has noticed and commented on it. I just wonder why it's only the "search" button that's creaking. (Actually it's not the button itself that's creaking, it's the single piece of plastic covering the three buttons that's creaking - it creaks even if you press lightly on it without depressing the underlying button)
Maybe this is just the kind of thing where some people notice/care for it whereas others don't... I hope that maybe it'll loosen up a bit over time and maybe it'll get rid of the creaking.
Yeah I've noticed that as well. Don't have the phone anymore but I found it a bit annoying having to hard press the 3 buttons at the bottom.. I would have preferred touch sensitive ones.

Just out of curiosity - why'd you get rid of it? Because of the hard buttons or you just wanted to go back to Android?

Wasn't because of the buttons.. Although I found them a bit small/stiff in general to use. The phone feels great - perfect size in the hand, good shape, and love the OS, but something about it wasn't turning me on (lol). It's my secondary line so I'm usually playing around with different phones when I can.
