3 months in Ireland, any recommendations for an unlimited data plan? SIM-only

Galway mostly, but travel in-around Ireland (possibly to other parts of Western Europe for weekends, etc too). I'm looking for a plan (SIM-only) that would be used in an unlocked iPhone that includes unlimited (or obscenely high) data, voice/texting. I'd probably be interested in Wifi tethering (officially or otherwise) as well.

I'm leaning towards Vodafone because I've had good experiences in the past while traveling in Europe with them, but I'd consider O2 or Meteor assuming the roaming isn't exorbitant. Calling the US probably wouldn't be unnecessary, as we can use skype over the data side or something.

Any plans anybody would recommend? I can order the SIM beforehand.

I can't speak specifically for quality of the Irish network, but the carrier "Three" offers genuinely unlimited data both here in the UK and in Ireland.

    http://www.three.ie/products_service...pay/index.html

Their networks around the world are aimed at data users rather than voice callers - they only have 3G networks (although in Ireland they have a deal with Vodafone to use their 2G network where 3G is unavailable).

A €20 top up gets you:

    Unlimited Data
    Unlimited Texts
Unlimited calls to other Three Ireland customers
    Unlimited Weekend Calls

I think you can then use the €20 top up to pay for anything that isn't included (e.g. non-weekend calls, international services etc.)

They also offer a Micro SIM which is convenient if you have an iPhone 4/4S

The only downside that I can think of is that they don't allow tethering on this plan.
