So, someone I know just got the Evo 3D, and I fell in love with it. But of course, I refuse to be chained to 80-100 dollar a month service plan for at least 2 years, which is why I love Metro. So, basically I'm hoping to combine the two lol I've been trying to research this for hours and my head is spinning! What I would like to know is:
Is Metro supposed to be able to flash it over? I've seen some forums say they won't touch it, others say only if you know the person.
Also, if I can flash the Evo over to (and through) Metro, am I just going to get text and call? Cause obviously that would be a waste of money and beautiful machinery!
And based on that, if it is only text and call, I know there has to be a way around that, and what would you suggest?
Lastly, and kind of on the side, is Houdini what Metro uses? Or is it just another flash software? And if it isn't used by Metro, would it let me use the data, mms & etc. if I used it to flash my phone, if Metro can't?
I've been out of the flashing game for a little while now, but what i do know for a fact is that even once you figure out how to flash it and get all the data features working, you will never be able to benefit from Metros LTE (4G) data service.
Unfortunately a device MUST be an actual Metro device in order to use their 4G signal. So you will have an impressive phone but it will be limited to 1X, 3G (limited speed) and WiFi for data services.
No you're not stuck with Sprint, you just can't benefit from Metros 4G if you get it on Metros network. You're only stuck with Sprint if you want to be able to use the phones 4G signal.
you would be only on the 1900mhz cdma 1x and evdo network. no 1700mhz aka aws and no 4g aka lte for you with the evo 3d. if you're satisfied with that then flash it over and call it a day
