I expect glitches in the mad rush. Maybe we can help each other out. List your issue if any with byod sim program and maybe other Hofos will have the answer.
Thanks.

Not so trollish. If it's an AT&T or TMobile phone, but a ST sim, buy a month of time (or three months) and when you run out of minutes or MB on your plan, swap the SIM and use ST. (If you have a phone that has dual active SIMS, just put both of them in and use the one you need.) In 3 months, if you don't like ST service, you haven't lost much. If you do, cancel your contract.
(If you don't have an AT&T or TMobile phone, get one of the freebies to try the service out.)
options
1. wait three months, pay the lowered etf of 100. port number and cancel two lines (that only cost me 35/month) and then spend 10 more a month for ST service.
2. do as you suggested, carry two services and pay out the ***( now at 70/month) for 3 months, cancel lines and then 10 more a month for ST service.
I'll go with not spending 45 a month extra if I don't have too.
In all actuality I think I'm going to try GrooveIP+Google Voice+$30 dataconnect monthly from AT&T first..
In the end, twas trollin' i be doing.
First off, not everyone carries multiple lines on their accounts. Secondly, do you get unlimited text and talk with 2GB of data without throttling? Somehow I doubt it. Even GoPhone is well above the cost with 1GB of data...and it is slower.

Thanks for dinner bub. It was tasty..
I'm new to str8 talk and I've used several prepaids. First off I have ten years of cellular modding experience. I've only been on prepaid for 4 years. And nothing considerably great has been offered on a network until now. Prior I had a gevey sim and did the whole 112 until the official 5 update. Then recently the furious mod once again changed that. After my iPhone 4 being the ultimate guinea pig for cydia mods restoring and backing up isn't uncommon to me as well as downgrading iOS.
I'm live in a rural area in south central Virginia. Outside of the area of town I am still on the home network however 3G isn't available. Where in town it is.
I'm happy! First time my iPhones have ever seen 3G!
I need assistance with two issues. I've searched and crossed numerous specific apns in pages regarding this and I need help cause my mms isn't working. Also an important note. This apn of mine is apparently original. The apn is affecting my direct ability to send and receive mms. Also I noticed my ping is really high on speedtest 250+ with 1.5-2.8mbps dl and 1.5 mp ul speed. I believe my ping to be affecting my iMessage. It's all over the place. One second it's Working another second it's in text mode. Whole still under 3G. I message works sending pics because this uses Internet. But not everyone has an iPhone. Please help.
iPhone 4 jb5.0.1 bb4.10.01 activated with st sim redsnow .9b11? It's a recent .9 redsnow.
On other services I had a functional iMessage on edge. And mms on simple, tmobile. Activated with an AT&T sim each time. I've used Sam with success as well testing Ipusher.
Apn straight talk

also going in and out of town it appears that im losing cellular data network. when im really not. test confirmed working in all areas. just the driving around has the handshakings failing apparently.
picture depicts average ping for my i4 and current sunday traffic... ping i believe is the reason for my fb app failing to connect to the internet when my safari would...![]()

I think the OP started this thread about issues and glitches that BYOD sim card users are having.
So let us get back to the topic on hand, seems like a lot of us sim swappers and BYOD had issues with data on ATT this weekend. Mine is working fine today, anybody else with similar issues and have they been solved for you.
I have an unlocked iPhone 4s, not jailbroken. My problem was this:
I can't change the APN and cannot get data. I tried both manual and going to unlockit.co.nz but neither worked. The problem is that when I go to Settings > General > Network, the top option is "Cellular Data" with a toggle on/off. It is not clickable, nor is it "Cellular Data Network". The other options on that page are Data Roaming, VPN, or WiFi.
_____
Several others have had this problem and MacFrog recommended this:
As the phone technically thinks its on AT&T it attempts to use the at&t settings - which disables the APN screen for all phones - factory unlocked included.
To enable the screen you need to insert a non AT&T sim (such as a Tmobile or foreign sim) and this will enable the screen. You can then go into the screen - pop out the non AT&T sim, enter your straight talk sim and then enter the information.
Once you exit the screen it will no lomg be available but the information will entered be saved. You will only need to redo this if you pop your sim out or enter the information incorrectly. Restarting the phone or updating it will not effect the settings.

I didn't have an appropriate SIM. They are available at eBay for about 99c (SimpleMobile on TMobile) but I didn't want to wait and didn't want to jailbreak. HOWEVER, I did this and everything now works:
1. Take the ST SIM card out (so there is no SIM card in the phone at all).
2. Use WiFi and go to unlockit.co.nz
3. Use the program to change the APN using the carrier AT&T MVNO (NOT Straight Talk)
4. Stick the ST SIM card back it.
So if I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4s do I just order the micro sim for AT&T or is it different for the unlocked gsm device
Tried the unlockit as described above it did not help with internet.
My problems is no internet on my BYOD sim iPhone 3GS tetherme installed. I do have it on my sim swap iPhone from nokia 6790. If move sim from nokia to either iphone they have internet
