We are moving to Prescott Valley, AZ sometime in Sep or Oct this year and have some questions about Cricket service in that area.
I was at our local mall here and stopped into the Cricket store. I asked him how the coverage is in Prescott Valley, AZ and he showed me the street level map on the computer. It showed their best signal was in that area. (all solid green) He also told me that they will have 4G there as well.
It seems that every carrier I look at has great signal there, but I don't really want to trust what the carriers say as being truthful. I have looked into at&t, T-Mobile, VirginMobile, StraightTalk and Verizon. They all say they are the best. Come on, somebody is lying to me.
Is there anyone on this forum that has actual experience in that area and couuld give me a straight answer? Or is that guy in the Cricket store slinging it to me?
whats up bro i lived in prescott valley a few years ago and at the time cricket service was not available closest place that had cricket service was phoenix where i live now. i personally dont use cricket for 2 reasons limited coverage and even in phx 3g speed is terrible. 4G i heard is available in some parts of prescott on Sprints network. No 4G in prescott valley currently.
Cricket has service there, but it's very limited to Prescott/Prescott Valley area, you'll be flipping to "Roaming" a lot, you'd be better off up there going with Sprint or Verizon since both have very well built out 3G networks.
T-Mobile works just fine up there, but they're currently only EDGE only, but judging from their recent expansions up 89 around wickenburg and northern AZ, it wont be long until they have 3G/4G coverage around Prescott
I would personally avoid cricket at all costs, unless you're someone who has absolutely zero credit, or no social since that's the demographic they cater too, you're going to get "low end" service, and if you actually look at what you get with their plans (1GB limit for Smartphone data, throttled ~300kbps EVDO speeds), you're really not getting that great of a deal compared to Sprint or T-Mobile,
