"Those who are looking to buy it outright for $599 are in the vast MINORITY" -- not majority.
Ah that makes more sense.. I was kinda confused when I read that
I mean... Regardless of my opinions on the tab (which I think is basically worse than a contract - the new Telus/Rogers contract terms are way better), I would obviously choose the tab if the option is there... But only if the phone is at a price where I would be willing to pay the full cost if I cancelled the plan (which is why I passed on the Galaxy Nexus... too many deficiencies for a phone with a $600 price tag).
If Wind is only handing them out to NEW ACTIVATIONS, activate a new account (pay per use or $15), walk out of the store, slip in your HMP sim card, and chuck the pay per use card in the nearest trash can. Problem solved.
WIND Mobile, Rogers Wireless, Bell, SingTel (Singapore), China Mobile (HK), China Unicom (China)

windtab is not a requirement to activate service. Even if wintab was a requirement to activate, the price of the phone will still be identical to the activating the phone on the cheapeast monthly plan plus one of month of service fees.
Anyone got an update as to when the Galaxy Nexus is going to be available as an hardware upgrade and not just new subscribers? Any word from Wind on that yet?

Read first. Already explained how they can't limit it like that.

I have read and I am the one who started this thread. Perhaps I should have reiterated that I want it on the tab+ (also,I have no interest debating the merits of the tab/tab+ system with those who don't like it). I was wanting to know if anyone heard of the policy being dropped yet. It isn't a huge problem to wait but my wife wants the phone as soon as it is available with the tab+.
The ware house got some today. We ordered 1000 company wide for the rest if the month (company wide) next week you guys should be able to get it on an upgrade.

Who said anything about WINDtab being a requirement? The point is that the customer wishes to take advantage of the tab offer if he/she is going to be getting the phone.

DON'T TAKE A LOAN!
To this day it still baffles me beyond belief that people view the tab system as a LOAN. This is not accurate at all.
There is absolutely NO -- I repeat, absolutely no downside to going on the tab (especially the tab+). Let us define the term 'loan' shall we? It is taking up debt in the form of upfront monies offered (typically for larger purchases where one does not have the necessary funds.
You cannot parallel a cell phone tab system with a conventional 'loan'.
It would ONLY be similar to a loan if WIND (or any other carrier) asks you for the 'loaned' money back in MONEY form. e.g. Galaxy Nexus priced at $599 and going for $249 on tab+ essentially saves you $350.
So if you consider the $350 as a LOAN, if means that Wind expects you to pay that $350 cash back to them at some point (simply for helping you buy the phone at a reduced price ($350 savings) up front.
However, as most people are aware this is clearly not how tab systems operate. By requiring you to stay with the carrier for a specified duration in time (and in turn offering to CLEAR THE TAB) it essentially negates the 'loan'.
Put in other words, most people will be with the carrier for the next three years (heck, two-thirds of the Canadian population believes that 3 year contracts are the ONLY way to go. If you are eligible for the tab you are a fool (I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but I just have to make a point) for not taking it.

100 is not an impressive number, and another zero and we can start talking.
I would agree with you ONLY if not going on tab meant getting a monthly discount on my bill.
Otherwise it's stupid to pay full price instead of going on Tab (unless you bought the phone outright for cheaper from somewhere else, like Lumia 710 from Rogers)... You're saving Wind money instead of saving yourself money.
