0.56 Mbps now, just south of the airport, but typically 1.6 Mbps here.

This happens every time they run a major promotion in Mississauga - I've always figured that Wind has a lot of subs there. They will increase capacity again, then they'll run another promotion and it will get slow again. It's been like this for the past year or so (before then it was just slow).

As long as I can stream at 128kbps then I'm happy enough, which is still the case.

Never mind. I noticed today that in high subscriber areas they capped speeds at 1.3mbps and instead implementing hspa+ they are adding more towers to ease congestion.

Although I got 3mbps at dundas at cawthra today. Just slower in my neighbourhood and sq1

Telus told me that I have to pay more than my monthly bill to continue using services.
So I said BYE TELUS! and Hello WIND!
I then tried Mobilicity, on the $35 all-in. Coverage sucked and then the Holiday Miracle Plan popped up...
So I said BYE MOBILICITY! and Hello again WIND!

Seems plausible. 1.3mbps is not bad at all for mobile use. It is my understanding that they have added a bunch of towers but not implemented HSUPA here yet. In fact, the upload speeds tend to drop to 0.09mbps during peak hours, and go back up to 0.35mbps at other times. This could also be a deliberate measure to cope with congestion.

BTW, I got one of my best results near erin mills pkwy and hwy 403 of 6mbps down during peak hours, at about 4:00pm.

I wish I could get .1mbps up. Jesus haven't seen .35mbps up in like 5 months now...
