    New Sim program.

    My mom currently has a Straight Talk messaging phone on the $30 plan. If i bought her a AT&T smartphone and got her the new sim program they have could she port her phone number to it? Thanks

    yes, why wouldn't they be able to? also note that you're making her bill go up 15 a month..it'll be a gift that keeps on taking.

    She'd be able to port, but she'd have to be on the $45 unlimited plan and she would lose any leftover balance on the $30 plan.

    Yes, you will need an att phone, a BYOD sim the plan will go to 45$ a month. This can all be done online at their website by choosing move my number to a new phone.

    Ok thanks you guys!! She really wants a smartphone but she never liked the old Straight Talk ones. BTW does anybody know of a good Android ATT smartphone with a keyboard? For under $200? She needs a keyboard.

    Not AT&T, but Tmo or Bell(?) had an HTC G2/Desire Z. You can get one on eBay.
