hello im new to this forum and looking for information on how to set up a program on my computer where our kids can text us when we are at work. we used to use yahoo messanger but i guess that no longer works :-( any help would be great! thanks
For example the email address would be: <your phone#>@txt.<company>.com
but also, don't assume this will work. To prevent spam, some carriers allow customers to block texts sent this way. I have my T-Mobile phone number blocked and aliased to an alphanumeric name. My employer set up an emergency notification system which assumed that this system would work for the seven or so most common carriers. I had to inform them that there needed to be another approach as some folks' mobiles had e-mail addresses but not the standard ones.
