So..what phone did you get on T-Mobiles Valentine weekend speical?
Just curious as to what phones are buying the most on this Valentines weekend special? You can also say what phones were being bought by other people if you yourself didn't get one.
My friend and I went to a store to see what the fuss was all about. Although we didn't buy anything (I can't give up my grandfathered features!), it was definitely busy and I would say 30-40% of people were there for the Samsung Galaxy S2
Friend of mine went in there today and intended on getting 2-3 new phones but instead ported out to Verizon for their double data promo since I guess T-Mobile wanted him to change plans and it was near the cost of Verizon anyway. He was still using a G1, lol
Home ISP, RR-Turbo WiFi, $80/mo | Verizon 4G, $30/mo Unlimited
School, $5,000/semester | Work

Your friend would of still came out ahead with the better plan on T-Mobile, Verizon's double data is only 4GB and then overages if you go over, T-Mobile has 5GB of high speed data but unlimited data..for the same price as Verizon's.

You will never be able to figure people out... Might as well stop trying now
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using HowardForums
Speeds from my HTC SensationThe last one is Roadrunner-Way to impress, Time Warner
I tried for 2 HTC Amaze. One cancelled from tmo with no reason given, and one pending. Not holding my breath. Been on hold forever trying to figure out waht happened, and nobody will help.
Tried to order GX2 tonight, after they cancelled one Amaze (after local stores closed), but they locked me out. Even my wife cannot order one. See my post in 'ask the employee' thread...

However, as Extraoridnary's friend found out, the Classic plan that T-Mobile wanted them to sign up for is so close in price Verizon's plans anymore, that one can switch to Verizon and get the advantages of a larger network and faster LTE devices for just a slight increase in cost.
T-Mobile should be offering great deals on devices to current customers on their grandfathered plans instead of trying to get them to pay more for the same service (just to get a device discount.) That has a tendency to leave a bad taste in people's mouths

Compared to T-Mobiles unlimited everything for $89.99, Verizon double promotion won't last long before they go back to 2GB/month, but even still 4GB is still 1GB less than T-Mobile and Verizon charges $10 per 1GB if you go over their data allowance.
As far as coverage..Verizon sucks here, slow 3G, dropped calls, no signal where I live..their not all their cracked up to be.
Verizon really outdoes T-Mo in the larger data plans. 10gb is $50 with Verizon, $10 cheaper.
Although don't forget T-Mo offers free official tethering at the moment but the costs are still rather comparable for what is supposed to be the most expensive and one of the least expensive companies.

Verizon advertises larger data caps because they have caps..T-Mobile doesn't. The only reason T-Mobile has the 2GB and 5GB is that is for their fast data speed..if you go over those you'll still get mobile data WITHOUT BEING CHARGED FOR IT. Just it won't be as fast as the first 2GB or 5GB that you signed up for.
So I don't see how you thinking Verizon has the better deal when your paying $20 more and if you go over the 10GB they'll charge you even more $10 per 1GB.
If you think Verizon is such a hot deal, go sign up with them for unlimited and the 10GB data plan...o that's right you'd be paying twice as much.
Verizon is not cheaper than T-Mobile, no way no how. Even with a 20% discount (which you can easily have half of that applied to any T-Mo account with Student Rate or a Freelancer discount).
With "95%" of users falling under 2GB, T-Mobile's data plans are easily the most attractive on the market. T-Mobile's plans also include hotspot, VZW's data buckets are promo's (but attractive nonetheless)
If I were to be attracted to that promo, I would call retentions. I will not allow them to force me off my Unlimited Loyalty plan, or my $20 Preferred Android plan. They give that line about you can save money. Yeah right. I am not changing my plan. It makes me stand out, against other customers.
T-Mo may be unlimited after throttle but it's pretty useless for anything except basic use. I've hit my 5gbs for the last 4 months and throttled. I manage about half a gb after that.
The good is I'm not charged but I'm limited to email and pretty slow web. I'm unlikely to leave because I have a good cheap plan. I'd just like something more competitive in the larger data buckets. I don't want to pay 3x the amount for my preferred web for twice the data.
I got my GS2 for free by calling retentions. They let me keep my Unlimited loyalty plan, and helped me save $5.00 a month. I am not into that changing plans stuff. Not even to save so called $5 or $10. The taxes will only bring it back up.
